An extraordinary town overflowing with mediaeval buildings so very picturesque. Many bars and restaurants. A fabulous Musee d'Art Moderne, unexpectedly good! If you want a motel style stopover, this place fits the bill. It’s not fancy. The breakfast is good. Plenty of free car parking. In addition to being given a wonderful welcome by the host and being made so comfortable - Saint-Julien-les-Villas is a residential area of Troyes a few minutes drive from the centre (or a 30 minute stroll) and, so it is a good place to stay if you want peace and quiet. Troyes itself is fascinating and historic. We didn't have enough time to visit all the museums this time and definitely hope to return.Guest review byheatherUnited Kingdom - 4.0

We've stayed before but the hotel has gone downhill. Rooms are looking tired. Food in the restaurant was very poor. Troyes is a beautiful example of a town packed full of half-timbered medieval houses everywhere you look. And so many churches and a beautiful cathedral. It's well worth a visit and specifically look out for the stained glass windows and we would recommend a visit to the Cite du Vitrail which is a fabulous museum about stained glass and apothecaries.
