I stayed here with my partner for 4 nights in September as part of an anniversary trip. Start to finish everything here was flawless! It's the best of both worlds -- the attention and services of a hotel with the comfort and relaxed setting of an apartment rental. Service: We were greeted immediately in the parking lot and given a tour of the room and facilities. Before your stay you get access to their guest portal where you can instant message staff, book things like massage, meals, etc.l The guest portal has guides to your room and recommendations for the area, all at your fingertips. They have guides in English for literally everything, e.g. how to work the towel heater or dish washer in your room. Such attention to detail! They also had a hand written note in our room welcoming us. Check-in and check-out and payments were a breeze, there is no key -- your door is locked by a key pad. Everyone we encountered at the spa and wine bar were so nice. Shout outs to the woman (sorry I didn't catch her name) who gave us a free taste of walnut liquor at the bar to try. Room: We were in room 201 which was perfect for us because it is private and away from the other rooms. It was very quiet and conveniently located next to one of the pools. There is a small outdoor seating area which we enjoyed. Everything is immaculately clean and modern with comforts of home. The design of the kitchen and decor in general is really beautiful and minimalist chic. TV had many international channels to enjoy, plus there is chrome cast. The kitchenette was perfect for us because there are no restaurants walking distance and 2 of the nights we were tired from sightseeing and didn't feel like going out for dinner. So instead we could buy groceries (there is a Carrefour 8 mins drive away and every day of the week one of the nearby towns has a market) and eat in our room.

The interior of the Chateau was spotlessly clean and modern. The hotel manager spoke flawless English and was ready to answer any requests we had, and to arrange dinner reservations for us. Everything in the place was of top quality. We were told that renovations had been done less than a year previously. The manager greeted us personally upon arrival, gave us a tour of the key features of the house and grounds, and a brief history of the place. She then provided complimentary beverages to enjoy, followed by showing us our room and it's features. We were treated like nobility, everything was first class!

This hotel has the best location to visit Sarlat on foot without the hassle of finding a parking spot. There's an indoor private parking on a walking distance. The pool, spa and surroundings are great. The room is very nice. The bathrooms are new and very functional. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is outstanding. This touristy village is a great base for a holiday in the Dordogne area of France. It's the world centre of prehistory, complete with the excellent National Museum of Prehistory and loads of caves and rock shelters nearby. The incredible cave paintings at Lascaux and the medieval town of Sarlat (amazing market on Saturday mornings) are a short drive away. There are loads of great restaurants in the village, and also a weekly evening food market on Fridays in the summer, with fabulous food stalls (top-quality take away dinner!). We didn't have a car during our holiday - we travelled there and back to Les Eyzies by train, and made full use of the local bus services 337 and 339 which run a very cheap summer service for tourists to Sarlat and Lascaux. Canoeing on the River Vezere is a must - we used Canoe 24, a 5-minute walk from our hotel.

One full day would have been enough to see Beynac and walk to Castlenaud and back - two nights in the apartment would thus have been enough for me. BUT - if you have a car, and family, there is a lot to do and the town is much less crowded than Sarlat.

We ate at the Pizzeria des Templiers Restaurant and it was excellent. Lovely cooling mist in their nice courtyard. Very friendly staff and delicious pizzas with a thin crispy crust. Tasty desserts too. We also ate at the Esplanade which is a lovely place to sit on a warm summers evening on the terrace. Very helpful staff for choosing the meal and wine to go with it. Also my friend had a problem with certain foods and it was no problem to make changes. They were so helpful. we also ate at the Asian restaurant just outside of Domme. They have just moved there. The meal was delicious and all home made. Not bought in frozen. Domme is great for shopping and all the shop keepers were super friendly.

Not a lot going on in Saint Cybranet really but a nice village and great base for exploring middle Dordogne area. Great well marked cycle trails in Ceou valley too and lovely villages as you wonder upstream. Close to all the main tourist venues on Dordogne River too. Countryside is beautiful and the golden coloured chateaus and houses really beautiful. Markets in local towns great. Sarlat lovely. A real taste of France, what's not to like! Combined with the cheese, walnuts, foie gras, fantastic bread and lovely wines... Not to mention a glass of Ricard.... A little piece of heaven.
