One of the prettiest places I have visited.
One of the prettiest places I have visited. It looks like it came out of a fairytale. It was wonderful to walk around the village because everything look so pretty. It’s perfect for slow traveling. The products there didn’t seem overpriced, so we bought a lot of nice souvenirs.Guest review byBellaPhilippines - 8.0

Riberac itself has perhaps seen better times however, its centre is busy enough with cafes, restaurants and supermarkets all easily accessible to cater for all needs. Its location means that it is perfect for travelling to many other interesting villages and lakes all within 20 mins or so making it a great base to visit this area of the Dordogne.Guest review byBruceUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It’s a quiet not to touristy village , that was close to lots of great tourist hotspots . The setting is idyllic. , on the Drone river with lots of avian wildlife . 2 very good restaurants ( The Nommad , and the Drona in the Hostellerie de Griffon hotel) and a pizza outdoor restaurant by the RV park .Guest review byAdeleUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Thievery’s is a nice town.
Thievery’s is a nice town. The centre is old but there are nome nice restaurants there. People are friendly, there are 2 local breweries if you like craft beer. St Jean de Cole is 10 minutes away and Brantome is just 15 mins more. Both very beautiful but much more expensive to stay in.Guest review byNeilUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Payzac is a beautiful quiet clean village.
Payzac is a beautiful quiet clean village. Bar Tabac proprietor,Sarah was very friendly as were some of the locals we met at her Bar Tabac. We travelled to Rocamadour, segur le chateau, la Moulinossou, lac Rouffiac. Central enough and maybe a week is enough before moving on somewhere else.Guest review byTheresaIreland - 10.0
A quiet village in the Dordogne.
A quiet village in the Dordogne. It lies on the river and has a small beach and a very nice pizza restaurant. Superb patisserie selling lots of different bread and cakes at which you can enjoy coffee etc. We enjoyed breakfast there a couple of times. There is also a shop selling local produce. There is a post office and bars/restaurants. It has a beautiful old church and a chateau.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Brantome is an extremely picturesque small town and is a major attraction for tourists, particularly during high season. The varied shops and cafes provide opportunities to browse while the weekly market is a must-see if you are able to visit. The whole town is a network of small streets and bridges to explore with the river, parks and abbey providing photo opportunities at every turn. Visit the top floor of the abbey for spectacular views and an insight into the construction of the building. Great central location for touring the area.Guest review byClaireUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I fell in love with this little town full of charm and ancient history. There is a lot to see and a wonderful castle to visit. Take your time walking through the narrow street and discover the history of this charming town. Also worth stopping off at the Hotel Griffon which offers a delicious dinner on a terrace overlooking the river. Fabulous food and wine and great staff too, you will not be dissapopinted.Guest review byvalerieFrance - 8.0
A good place to stay while visiting the Dordogne region.
A good place to stay while visiting the Dordogne region. Payzac is worth visiting by itself, nearby are a number of beautiful medieval villages worth seeing. Payzac is a sleepy town by itself, so you would be happy to return in the afternoon from e.g. Lascaux caves, and go to a tavern for a wine.Guest review byigorPoland - 10.0

Brantôme is a lovely little town, great for a day trip or overnight stay. Very picturesque, with plenty to see and do. Good choice of restaurants but they fill up quickly so need to be booked fairly early in the day.Guest review byLaurenceUnited Kingdom
