Exceptional! From the kind and very helpful staff to the fine details of the room. How soundproof soundproof can be? There was a live DJ about 20 meters from our room in the outdoor lounge and party area, but with the terrace door closed, it was absolute silence inside the room! Nespresso machine, good dark curtains and a quiet airco. This was such a perfect sleep on our route to Spain that we booked it again for the return trip (and we rarely visit the same hotel twice because its part of the fun to explore new places)

A comfortable and relaxed hotel which is dog friendly. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and they organised a dog friendly restaurant booking. Parking was really easy, secure and discounted for the hotel. Location was perfect to explore Clermont-Ferrand. Highly recommend

Beautiful 19th century spa town hotel, with its own spa. Moderate sized room with a nice (if not large) bathroom. The views of the surrounding mountains are beautiful and the beds very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the manageress, who speaks good English. There is also a large, quiet garden, with plenty of furniture, and lovely views.

Very picturesque in a small village. About 10 mins from A75 so a good stopover en route from Spain. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was very good and sourced locally as was the wine. Dog friendly.

Location is outstanding, we came back here partly because of the views. The staff are always friendly, helpful and polite. We love the charcuterie there. Breakfast was lovely and a great selection. Our room was clean, a proper shower, not a bath and the bed was comfortable. Balcony had amazing views.

Really great place. This is right at the bottom of a tracking route up to the "Puy de Sancy." Very close to the cosy village Mont-Dore. We had dinner twice and breakfast too, and it met/exceeded expectations. Big bonus for having a charging point for EV's right in front! I would come again.

This city has a bit of a dark foreboding nature about it...

This city has a bit of a dark foreboding nature about it somehow but is full of interesting places and streets and alleys. The old quarter is appealing with hilly streets and mountain backdrops everywhere you look. It’s worth finding the numerous lovely fountains. Especially Fontaine Delille. The Notre Dame church in the centre of the old town is interesting and photogenic and is in a square with good restaurant choices. Lots of Space Invaders on walls, and some graffiti too. We were here November 18-20 and it snowed so we took a drive up to the Puy de Dome and into a winter wonderland. The volcanos with snow on top. There are wide city views from Parc de Montjuzet just above the city.

We had been there before but only for a single night. We love the town, the hotel, the atmosphere. We ate breakfast in the hotel which was incredible and ate out for other meals (not available in out hotel). Bit of a nuisance to search for other places to eat - the month was September and quite a few places were closed. The Cafe de Paris was a reliable stop gap.

Some really good restaurants but you need to book in advance as they all seemed to be busy in the evenings. Parking is quite good in the evenings but takes a bit of time finding a space during the day.

Sorry to say that it took us 30 to 40 mins to check in as the computer was not working I had to press the button for help twice don't want this at check in it was a hot day ant the air conditioning did not work part was broken off any time we go away we always look for b&b hotel not sure anymore

Issoire is an ideal overnight stop when travelling from the UK to Spain and vice versa. The A75 from Clermont Ferrand to Beziers is the best road I ever travel on -- relatively quiet, especially at night, lovely scenery and a direct route to the Med. Also, the only toll is on the magnificent Millau Bridge, but that is avoidable by going through the town. Central Issoire, where there is a good choice of accommodation, is only a half mile from Junction 13.

Although not used during our stay there is a swimming pool on site. Also, good walking and a variety of sites above the town to offer that sort of holiday. For an outdoor holiday in all guises, it wd be worth a thorough exploration of the area. For our touring trip we needed a night only and the hotel where we stayed offered everything we needed.... and private parking!

Thiers is a time capsule waiting to be brought out into the open. First impressions are quite bad. The whole town is dead or dying. However, closer inspection brings great rewards. The Medieval town is breathtaking. It is mainly empty which is a terrible shame, because the quantity and quality of its buildings rival those of Rennes, Le Mans or any place you wish to mention. Also, the old industrial workshops are no less special. The whole town should be taken over by the government and managed as a living museum and nation treasure, it is that good. Add to this the fact that the minute you set foot outside the town you are in the most stunning, mountainous scenery.

My stay was one night only but it was a charming hotel with excellent features. The room was quiet, comfortable and nicely appointed. Bed quality was great, which is very important to me. The price is reasonable. Best feature is the restaurant. I hate having to hunt down a restaurant for a short stay like this. Food and service was excellent!

We were looking for a nice place to stay during our trip...

We were looking for a nice place to stay during our trip from the south of France to The Netherlands. The hotel is clean and efficient, though overall somewhat dated. The staff was kind and helped us out. The nearby village provides with enough shops and restaurants as we had one afternoon and evening to cover. It looked like there were many outdoor activities going on (hiking, toboganning, etc.). Being there for one night, we did not participate so I cannot comment on those.
