IcelandEverything was amazing. The staff we interacted with spoke good English, we got an upgrade on our room, which was beautiful and very cozy. The spa was very nice and the breakfast was superb. Before we left we had a great massage. One of the most relaxing hotels I have ever visited. Can't recommend this place enough!

Breakfast served in a basket with fresh bread , jam butter and coffee perfect way to start in the morning.
Can not fault the owners , on hand , polite , and nothing was any trouble for them . Going back to stay a few nights and pick there brains for local stuff to do

The jacuzzi and sauna are very comfortable and nice, during the night you can enjoy the stars because there are no big cities around and during the day you can look at the green field and forest in front of the house. The surrounding area is great to have a walk or to run. And the owner is a very lovely lady who lives nearby and can help you with everything

Pont D'Ouilly is a small village but has an excellent range...
Pont D'Ouilly is a small village but has an excellent range of shops such as a boulangerie, boucherie/charcuterie, and a wholefood epicerie. In addition there is a small supermarche and if you're desperate, 2 automatic pizza dispensers! The restaurants weren't open when we there (February) but there are a good range which I presume are open later in the year. The boulangerie is outstanding and their range of patisseries is to die for. As we stayed in a gite, we cooked all our own meals. It is obviously a place where water activities take place but again, not in February. We took bikes and explored the many on and off-road opportunities in the area. Nice, comfortable hotel but seemed to lack a few services such as there being no laundry service. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant but a limited menu and quite expensive and unfortunately, as it was August, there was little else in terms of alternatives in the vicinity. Lovely old stone property nestled in a small valley with garden. Interesting vintage cars and artifacts all around. Plenty to look at. Friendly hosts, who also ran the neighbouring creperie. The apartment was a good size and everything we needed was there. The description of how to get there was very useful, as the entrance is not that easy to find. Access is thru the main house; there is no separate entrance. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean & spacious. The area surrounding Thury-Harcourt is really beautiful. The bedroom was of ample size,at ground level,well furnished , one double bed very comfortable,lovely bathroom with a magnificent shower accommodation very quiet breakfasts were excellent French style The hosts could not have been more helpful and drove us to different local restaurants and picked us up every night . Thury is in a main Road, lovely countryside around it.
Thury is in a main Road, lovely countryside around it. Plus side is that it is an easy drive to the ferry port and the Normandy Beaches, minus side no good restaurants, especially on a Monday, heavy traffic and not much else.Guest review byPhilip
