- From US$241.21 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 722 reviewsEverything! The building is very beautiful and romantic. In low season we could easily find a free park spot in front of the hotel (please note free parking is only available in winter up to - I guess - April 1st? I guess parking in high season can be quite challenging in the village centre). Hotel is situation at a great central location. Lovely bar that stayed open until we were done. Bar does have food menu, with easy dishes. Restaurant is there too, but we didn’t tried it. (Btw the pub had non-alcoholic beers which so far appears to be quite scare in most France restaurants, so that was nice). Also the swimming pool / spa area was quiet and the pool jacuzzi area is basically open the entire day from 8am to 9pm. Length is I guess 12m pool. It’s a great pool for a tiny exercise after being in the car the entire day. Spa area has different hours, but we didn’t try it.Guest review bySijandaNetherlands

Fabulous and unspoiled medieval city.
Fabulous and unspoiled medieval city. The city is divided by a straight road with many shops. It is good to explore both sides. One has all the main buildings the other side has a maze of charming streets. at night the town is gaslit - very atmospheric! The market is exceptional.Guest review byclareUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bergerac is a beautiful town in the Dordogne, we loved walking around the historic area, it feels very safe and is hilly enough to add to the character but not too hilly to spend the whole day walking around. The Port on the Dordogne River is nice, we did the boat ride, you don't see much as far as houses or buildings but there was plenty of wildlife to see, Osprey, Egrets and they even found a Kingfisher for us so see. One entire day there or 2 short days is enough. We filled the other 2 days with excursions to Chateaux.Guest review bySo many placesFrance - 10.0

We were there on July 14th and enjoyed a concert and the most impressive fireworks we have ever seen. Soullac is a lovely town with a good vibe and interesting sites to see around it. Don't miss the Grottes de Lacave!Guest review byCharlotteNew Zealand - 10.0

This touristy village is a great base for a holiday in the Dordogne area of France. It's the world centre of prehistory, complete with the excellent National Museum of Prehistory and loads of caves and rock shelters nearby. The incredible cave paintings at Lascaux and the medieval town of Sarlat (amazing market on Saturday mornings) are a short drive away. There are loads of great restaurants in the village, and also a weekly evening food market on Fridays in the summer, with fabulous food stalls (top-quality take away dinner!). We didn't have a car during our holiday - we travelled there and back to Les Eyzies by train, and made full use of the local bus services 337 and 339 which run a very cheap summer service for tourists to Sarlat and Lascaux. Canoeing on the River Vezere is a must - we used Canoe 24, a 5-minute walk from our hotel.Guest review byDianaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

One full day would have been enough to see Beynac and walk to Castlenaud and back - two nights in the apartment would thus have been enough for me. BUT - if you have a car, and family, there is a lot to do and the town is much less crowded than Sarlat.Guest review byCarolynUnited States - 10.0

Martel was the perfect spot to visit the Dordogne Valley. We ate at the Pizzeria des Templiers Restaurant and it was excellent. Lovely cooling mist in their nice courtyard. Very friendly staff and delicious pizzas with a thin crispy crust. Tasty desserts too. We also ate at the Esplanade which is a lovely place to sit on a warm summers evening on the terrace. Very helpful staff for choosing the meal and wine to go with it. Also my friend had a problem with certain foods and it was no problem to make changes. They were so helpful. we also ate at the Asian restaurant just outside of Domme. They have just moved there. The meal was delicious and all home made. Not bought in frozen. Domme is great for shopping and all the shop keepers were super friendly.Guest review byRaymondFrance - 8.0

Not a lot going on in Saint Cybranet really but a nice village and great base for exploring middle Dordogne area. Great well marked cycle trails in Ceou valley too and lovely villages as you wonder upstream. Close to all the main tourist venues on Dordogne River too. Countryside is beautiful and the golden coloured chateaus and houses really beautiful. Markets in local towns great. Sarlat lovely. A real taste of France, what's not to like! Combined with the cheese, walnuts, foie gras, fantastic bread and lovely wines... Not to mention a glass of Ricard.... A little piece of heaven.Guest review byCara
