- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 65 reviewsHome Farm is tucked down a picturesque country laneway in a brilliant central Highland location. Soo pretty. It immediately felt like home. Hosts, Sue and Stewart were welcoming, warm and discrete, attending to all details to make our two night stay as comfortable as possible. We loved them for it! We thought the house and gardens superb. Dappled light across wide green lawns with mature trees and flowering borders were so relaxing. The rooms were generous with comfy beds, super clean bathrooms and ensuites. Toiletries were set out for our comfort. Tea and coffee, too. Plus, our own sitting room! The generous breakfasts set us up for the day's sightseeing and both Sue and Stewart gave us excellent local recommendations; the Singleton Distillery, the Ord Hotel nearby and Clava Cairns. The central Highlands location meant day trips were an easy drive to West Coast to Ullapool, northern Scotland and eastern locations such as Culloden and Cromarty. The exquisitely clean, well appointed rooms, comfortable bedrooms, farmland views and generous, kind hosts made this trip absolutely special - beyond our expectations. These are superhosts, deservedly.Guest review byDr ElizabethAustralia

We enjoyed our stay at the Estate of Ord - many things contributed to this, not the least of which was the polite and professional service from the staff. The country location and the old estate are charming. Our room had plenty of room, a nice high ceiling and a good bath. Things that could be improved are the lack of an electrical outlet for charging devices in our room and the provision of lighting from the lower parking area (as we were not able to find a space at the lodge and had to manage in the dark). One evening there was no hot water for a shower, as well. Otherwise, everything was very nice and the food was good. I've forgotten the type of fish but the meal of fish was delicious.Guest review byRosemaryUnited States - 10.0
What a beautiful part of Scotland!
What a beautiful part of Scotland! It was both relaxing and peaceful. There were different things you could do and fantastic places to eat and grab a drink. The dolphin watching was also very fun and different. Crofter’s was one of our favorite food places. Everyone we met were friendly and helpful.Guest review byMelissaUnited States - 10.0

If you're looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful and yet is near enough to a city if you need one then Munlochy is the place. The village does have a co-op which is a short walk from the cottage we stayed at.Guest review byelaineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A great area to explore with plenty of walks; sandy/rocky beach access. Overlooking the Moray Firth with dolphins and seals. The town is small with some shops, a fish n chip that was never open. Stunning viewsGuest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Excellent value for money. Lovely views.
Excellent value for money. Lovely views. Strongly recommended. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Liked · Squeaky clean premises. Large living/dining/kitchen room, with a large TV. Clean, fresh linen. Although we could not take advantage of it, the Inn being right below the rooms would have meant we could have had food and drinks at our convenience. The place is within a short walking distance of SPAR, a reasonably well stocked grocery store for essentials. Fresh milk in the fridge! Disliked · Well, there was just one pan and one pot in the kitchen. I sincerely feel a few more of these would be very useful for future guests. There are excellent electric radiators everywhere, but the choice of timer settings should be preferably left to the guests. A mixer tap for the hot and cold water in the bathroom would be extremely useful. The bathroom door bolt (from inside) needs attention. We went with close friends, but not close enough for people to walk in freely when one is using the bathroom! In today's times, segregation of trash is a must. We felt bad dumping all our trash in the same binGuest review byKoduvayurUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Always love Cromarty.
Always love Cromarty. Friendly community & a constant change of happy visitors too. Beautiful area & can never fault the food at the Royal hotel at the harbour, alway fresh made & tastey. Honestly the best haddock & crunchy tripple cooked chips I've had in years!.. Just wish the pubs were open a bit later at night. Easy to park up & stoat about on foot, no need to rush about. I've stayed hear by myself several times & again with mum or my hubby. Beautiful place whether you're a day visitor or staying locally for a week.Guest review byCatrionaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely little village with beautiful cathedral, shops, cafes, bakeries, butcher etc. Close to neighbouring village of Rosemarkie and beautiful beach and walks. Looks across Moray Firth to Ardersier and Fort George.Guest review byFionaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
This is a very small village.
This is a very small village. Quiet and near other small villages. The next village, Fortrose, has a 12th Century ( partially ruined) cathedral. Both villages have caravan parks that are very popular in summer.Guest review byDorothyAustralia
