- From US$236.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 3,586 reviewsGonville Hotel was a wonderful base for exploring Cambridge. We loved the hotel’s location next to Parker’s Piece, and it was an easy walk to shops, restaurants, the various colleges, and the train station. We loved that it has EV charging (although this time we came by train), and really appreciated being able to borrow the hotel’s bicycles (we rode all over the city.) We enjoyed our breakfasts each day, and found the staff to be very friendly and kind.Guest review byHuntCanada

Great off road parking and welcoming reception The room though basic was quite large and very clean, the bed was really comfortable and the shower was excellent. Breakfast was an added bonus. The city is so interesting.
The city is so interesting. The Wren Library at Trinity College is well worth a visit. All the eateries are top class and offer super service. The Botanical Gardens were on the turn as it is autumn and I think a reduced entrance fee would be a nice gesture. It was nice to encounter different plant species like ground crocuses. Our second visit and we will be back for more!Guest review bySueSouth Africa - 10.0
Second visit to Ely as we enjoyed our first visit so much.
Second visit to Ely as we enjoyed our first visit so much. The market on Saturday mornings is amazing with a great variety of stalls, including many locally made crafts. Drayman's Son a local brewery pub/craft beer place is just wonderful. Ely museum and Oliver Cromwell house are well worth the visit. The Cathedral is not to be missed. Plenty of small cafes The riverside is wonderful to walk along and sit and watch the world and boats go by. Places to eat and drink along the riverside and also a large antique/collectables centre. There are excellent links to Cambridge/London from the train station. Everything within the centre is accessible on foot.Guest review byMichelleUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The Town centre is full of drunks on benches at all hours of the day. There are reports of high crime compared to other towns in Cambridgeshire. It has a number of things to see such as the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, Peckover House, Elgood's Brewery and Gardens(open every Thursday) and Octavia Hill's birthplace, who was one of the founders of the National Trust.Guest review byTimUnited Kingdom - 4.0
Gone down-hill in the last few years and no decent shops.
Gone down-hill in the last few years and no decent shops. As with most small towns, completely overtaken with charity shops, vape shops and barbers.....a real shame as we used to love a stroll into the townGuest review byALEXANDERUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Clean. Spacious room overlooking barley fields.
Clean. Spacious room overlooking barley fields. Friendly staff and a tasty breakfast buffet that was all a traveller would need. Excellent value and good to know the Old Great North Road =B1043 which is clue how to get there! We ate authentic Indian cuisine at the Resto next door and took good Value diesel at the 24/7 pumps also next door.Guest review byMrs L LUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Quirky hotel 500 years old.
Quirky hotel 500 years old. Locality - central to village- close to Grantham water and Buckden Towers. Basic room. The hotel requires an upgrade but its architecture is great. The plumbing is a challenge. Overall I enjoyed my stay.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A beautiful calm place, ideal if you are a nature lover.
A beautiful calm place, ideal if you are a nature lover. Also excellent if you are interested in art and history - two medieval churches and one chapel, all of them within a walking distance. The most famous attraction is certainly IWM Duxford with the stunning aircraft collection - and it really is breathtaking. However, there's so much more Duxford has to offer!Guest review byDominikaPoland
