- From US$278.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,690 reviewsWelcoming staff and well appointed common areas. Bar open even though we arrived very late so we could get a nightcap. Bed comfortable. Bathroom was excellent with loads of hot water for a relaxing bath. Breakfast was superb. If you stay, make sure you add breakfast. Arrived too late to try the brasserie unfortunately but we will stay again and give it a go. The absolute stand out item.. biscuits on the tea tray in the room. Something corporate owned hotels have decided to cut back on to save money but it makes the experience so much better munching on a ginger and chocolate cookie with your tea.Guest review byCraigSpain

Good choice of shops and restaurants.
Good choice of shops and restaurants. Good transport links if no car, i.e. regular buses for local trips or nearby towns including Hastings and Tunbridge and Railway Station (Hastings an hour away by train). Worth a visit to Museum and Art Gallery. Lovely parks including Calverley Park - easily accessible from town (walking) for a coffee or ice cream! Enjoy!!Guest review byAudreyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We ate at a restaurant called Simply Italian. The food was amazing and there was a friendly atmosphere. The bus service was very good, times of the buses were accurate. There was plenty to see and do around Rye. I would definitely recommend a visit to the Nature Reserve at Rye Harbour.Guest review bymichaelUnited Kingdom - 6.0

We have known the town of East Grindstead of many years having grown up in a village very close by and attending school there. In our opinion, it is not as nice as it was, we moved away some 10 years ago to escape the never ending urban sprawl, high street decline, and neon monstrosities built after demolishing irreplaceable period buildings. That said, there isn't really a lot to do, and is best summed up as a stop over for Gatwick Airport, a shame really as we have many fond memories.Guest review byJames TuckerUnited Kingdom - 4.0

Battle is a pretty little town and very compact.
Battle is a pretty little town and very compact. The Abbey and battle ground is good to see as it is a major part of this country's history. However, if you opt to walk around the battlefield make sure you make use of the free audio guide as this brings the history to life as opposed to just looking at a field. The Abbey/battlefield and town can be done in a day, but it is a good idea to have an overnight stay so that you can pace yourself and fully enjoy the place.Guest review byPantelisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely high street albeit very busy at times, being a main route. Some nice shops for ladies and gents. We sampled two restaurants and enjoyed the food and service in both and finished both of our evenings in the Grape Vine listening to some jazz which was very relaxing. The White Lion is well placed in the centre of town and the service and beer were very good and the room was comfortable and clean.Guest review byStanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The room was comfortable the only down side was there was no shower it was a bath, that did not prove difficult for us but maybe I did not read the description properly. we spoke to the staff and they did say the hotel will undergo renovation when the owners are able.Guest review byJEANUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Ticehurst is like visiting another world.
Ticehurst is like visiting another world. It is a quirky and relaxing with interesting art shops and the most amazing cafe called 'The Greedy Goat'. The owner is just lovely and the food was the best and great value. Definitely recommend visiting Ticehurst. The residents are so friendly.Guest review byAnneUnited Kingdom - 10.0
This trip was intended for two days.
This trip was intended for two days. It turned out that we had to deal with a family emergency while we were there and we were able to book a further 4 nights in the room. The staff were AMAZING, helpful, caring , kind, friendly and totally, professional., Tristan , Bruno and Solly in particular . As well as the lovely ladies that cleaned the room during our stay. You cannot buy that service . We cannot recommend this place enough.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 8.0

There is nothing to see or do in Hawkhurst, but it is a good base if you want to visit places along the Kent/East Sussex border, like Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Bateman’s, Bodiam Castle and Rye.Guest review byColinUnited Kingdom
