FAQs about hotels in Kent
The Peaceful Garden of England
The so-called Garden of England, Kent is known for its lush greenery. Although within easy reach of London, it’s a world away from the hustle and bustle. So much so, that at many Kent hotels, spa facilities come as standard. One is, unsurprisingly, in the sophisticated spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Nearby in Lamberhurst is medieval Scotney Castle, surrounded by a moat. Also moat-bound and with Kent accommodation available on Booking.com are Hever Castle and Leeds Castle (the latter in a village not to be confused with the city of Leeds).
The county town is Maidstone, but its most famous city is Canterbury, whose magnificent cathedral is the seat of the Church of England’s highest post. Rochester also has an impressive cathedral.
To the west is Margate, one of the top Kent seaside towns. Other resorts with long beaches are Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Deal. Around the coastline, Dover is known for its white cliffs, castle and the ferries crossing the English Channel to France. To the west is the Channel Tunnel by Folkestone, and Eurostar trains from St Pancras also stop at Ashford inland.
Other popular Kent attractions are the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway, Brands Hatch motor racing circuit, and the conical oast houses so typical of this part of England.

- From $160.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 837 reviewsWe absolutely loved our balcony room overlooking the beach. The bed was very large and very comfortable. The staff were all really kind and accommodating. The bar area by the fireplace is super cozy, and we snagged the couch by the fire the two evenings we were there. The breakfast was delicious and portions are generous. The hotel is ideally located right by the beach and the town of Deal. We will definitely be back!Guest review byPerryUnited Kingdom

Loads of places to eat.
Loads of places to eat. A lovely medieval feel about the place. So many lovely old buildings. Too many very large groups of (schooĺl/kind-of-supervised) kids. The massive centre is mainly cobbled narrow streets with no cars! The cathedral is wondrous. We ate at Pho Canterbury - Vietnamese, The Olive Grove - Mediterranean, Posillipo - Italian. Would return to any of them. All first class.Guest review byJenniferUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Townscape is quite tired and run down making it feel a bit unsafe around the edges. Sad because there are remnants of what would have been a lovely location. Francos in the shopping centre does a lovely breakfast! Italian restaurant Vesuvius in Lower Stone Street does lovely food too ..Guest review byTinaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Good choice of shops and restaurants.
Good choice of shops and restaurants. Good transport links if no car, i.e. regular buses for local trips or nearby towns including Hastings and Tunbridge and Railway Station (Hastings an hour away by train). Worth a visit to Museum and Art Gallery. Lovely parks including Calverley Park - easily accessible from town (walking) for a coffee or ice cream! Enjoy!!Guest review byAudreyUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Pleasant.
Pleasant. Would not stay again until there is a refurb and walls are soundproof due to hearing moans and groans in the room next door at 12am. I was staying with my daughter and it was not a nice experience. Jacuzzi has been faulty for over a month. Breakfast was mediocre, not good quality ingredients.Guest review byNinja - 6.0
The room itself was clean and tidy.
The room itself was clean and tidy. Once in the room found the tv wouldn't work properly and bought the staff up and they couldn't get it to work either. The onsite restaurant was under renovation so no dinner or Breakfast though there was an eatery next door bar one and the food was lovely thereGuest review byJimmy CUnited Kingdom - 6.0
I have to say that Gravesend is not the prettiest of towns...
I have to say that Gravesend is not the prettiest of towns with many derelict buildings. The most impressive building in the town is the Sikh Temple. The town is very busy with traffic but is fairly easy to navigate around. We stayed in a very pleasant guest house outside of town which was perfect for going to Leo's Music Venue. This is the only reason we came to Gravesend. We ate at The Three Daws pub which has been pretty good on both times we visited. Traditional British Pub with a good British Menu. We had breakfast at The Hot Rod American Diner in Northfleet which again was very good!Guest review byFlotsam & JetsamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The Dover Castle was lots of fun and was well organized for visitors of all ages. The war tunnels on the other hand were poorly organized and should be reorganized in order to help make them more interesting. The films on the walls explaining the historical events were difficult to understand due to the echo. The significance of the tunnels could be made more hands on for the younger generation to grasp. The Cliffs of Dover- easily a days experience and excellent hike and picnic opportunities along the way.Guest review byEllenIsrael - 10.0
We attended for an event.
We attended for an event. The accommodation was perfect as near to the beach as we could get. I enjoyed watching various vessels with binoculars from the top floor of our accommodation. There was plenty of places to eat and we loved eating in the wonderful outdoor places before the Harbour Arm. The scenery was beautiful and everyone was very accommodating. I would love to go again but stay longer. We didn't travel really once there as there was everything we wanted where we were within walking distance.Guest review bySusan - 10.0
Whitstable is pleasant seaside town.
Whitstable is pleasant seaside town. It has many small independent shops which means a better variety of goods are available. The high street is narrow but has two way traffic. This problem is mitigated by having many road crossing points and is a 20mph zone. There is a good variety of restaurants, cafes and tea shops to suit any budget. It is a great place to visit.Guest review bySandraUnited Kingdom
