Hotel location is very quiet - just far enough from main roads to ensure a good nights sleep. Plenty of parking and it does have a lift for heavy bags. Really liked Alnwick, pretty little town with lots of independent shops to explore and a good range of choices for eating out. It is cobbled in places and a bit hilly, if you have mobility issues. We had a good meal in the Market Inn; we were lucky to get in as there was a constant stream of people looking for a table while we were there. It is obviously very popular. Also had an excellent chippy tea in Carlos Fish & Chip restaurant. Explored Alnwick Castle, which we loved and also the Alnwick Garden, a little oasis. Would love to revisit in the spring when everything is in full bloom.Guest review byFionaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Hexham is a beautiful market town, a place where people live and work - not touristy but with everything a tourist might want e.g. cafes, restaurants, arts events, a cinema. Great public transport connections to Newcastle and Carlisle. Exceptional countryside - Hadrian's Wall of course, but don't forget the North Pennines for remote wild walks.Guest review byKateUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A lovely historic town with beautiful old buildings. The proximity to the sea was excellent and lots of cultural activities available. There are lots of excellent bars and restaurants and great access to North Northumberland and Scottish Borders coast.Guest review bypaulineUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Great location for discovering the east coast, if you like fish and chips your in for a treat, there is also pub food but a little expensive, the 4 days we were there we visited Alnwick gardens, the holy islands and Bamburgh castle al with in easy reach,Guest review byNigelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great staff, excellent facilities and set in wonderful grounds, might be a bit isolated for some but for us it was an added bonus. Food was excellent, a buffet style breakfast but poached eggs cooked to order were brilliant and the one evening meal we ate in the restaurant did not disappoint. The spa area was immaculately clean and is well set out with a great steam room and more than adequate sauna, would have booked a treatment but our agenda did not allow. The main car park is some distance away and at the bottom of a steep hill, there is a drop off point and blue badge parking at the entrance but would advise booking this space if it is essential to you. All in all a great experience and likely to book again if we revisit the area.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Wonderful town; it even has a bank!
Wonderful town; it even has a bank! Plus excellent shopping, all the outlets I like. In lovely setting with River Wansdyke through it. Lots of pretty old buildings with history attached. And near the coast, the Cheviots, and NT CragsideGuest review byLisaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great location for visiting many castles and beautiful gardens. Cragside is a must see location. Also Ford and Etal, especially the heavy horses. Bamburgh is very picturesque with a very peaceful church and amazing castle which is run very well and is great to visit, amazing views and fantastic sand dunes. Walled garden and cafe in the middle of Bamburgh is a lovely place to spend time with the Grace Darling museum next door there are also lovely small independent shops . All perfect for a needed break away. Thank you Bamburgh.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Wooler is the perfect base to explore so much of wonderful Northumberland. The Cheviot hills are on your doorstep, literally walking distance and it is very easy to get to the coast, Lindesfarne and many other places just 30 minutes drive away. A small market town with a high street packed with great shops, pubs, takeaways and cafes; we recommend the Terrace cafe for excellent all day breakfasts and great coffee . The town is particularly good for those who like browsing antique and bric a brac shops, there was even an Auction when we were there.Guest review byHeskiaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Super-friendly harbour town with plenty of amenities.
Super-friendly harbour town with plenty of amenities. The Harbour is a great spot to take in the views and enjoy some amazing freshly caught seafood. We ate at The Fish Shack on the harbour in the evening with views out to Warkworth Castle and the food was absolutely delicious.Guest review byGillian - 6.0
Fabulous location and local Restaurant & Bars.
Fabulous location and local Restaurant & Bars. All staff at Beadnell Towers were extremely Friendly and Beadnell Towers is a beautifully restored hotel, the interior has been carried out to a very high standard and the food is wonderful. We visited Sea Salt Cafe and can say this was one of our best meals during our stay. Its a veryshort drive to Bamburgh Castle and Seahouses.Guest review byYvonne CanlinUnited Kingdom
