A city map is a great help and there is lots to see, bus service is great and can get you most places in the centre, history bus trip around the sights is an option. According to other Hotel visitors who come to Nottingham regularly the Hotels on the outskirts seem to offers a much improved service but I cannot confirm that.Guest review byMalcolm - 10.0

Attractive town, historic buildings, River Trent - all lovely features; and Sherwood Forest and Rufford Park in easy reach. Newark Civil War Centre is very interesting and there are many old buildings in the town. Independent shops and Sarurday market. Sourhwell Minster is not far away and cities - Lincoln (similarly much historical interest) and Nottingham - are each about 20 miles drive. Good pubs and restaurants too. Koinonia (Kerala food) is a favourite.Guest review byMaureenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Worksop is a Gateway to explore North Notts, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. It has an abundance of beautiful parks, Historic Houses and Golf courses on its doorstep that you are spoiled for choice. Sheffield, Doncaster, Gainsborough, Chesterfield Mansfield and Nottingham are all within easy reach. Edwinstowe and Sherwood Forest, which is probably Nottinghamshire biggest tourist attraction is only six miles away and is also where Center Parcs (Sherwood) is located. There are numerous eating establishments which give value for money. So, it's your choice.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Eastwood is so down to earth .a good range of shops and interesting things to do .also if you're a drinker it's good for that .. It's got a lovely old fashioned but modern feeling to it . Everyone so friendly.DH Lawrence would be proud that the historical nature of the town has been preserved.its like stepping back in time . It would also be good for ghost hunters and that kind of activity .Guest review byBarbaraUnited Kingdom - 8.0
We know Mansfield very well and returned for a look around,...
We know Mansfield very well and returned for a look around, although the town centre is not much different to any other area, there are some beautiful and interesting places to see close by. We visited The Carrs at Warsop, Clumber Park, Carr Bank Park in Mansfield, the Dukeries Garden Centre etc. The snow curtailed some of the activities we had had planned, as we had intended to visit some old haunts within Sherwood Forest itself. Sadly Mansfield Museum is a bit lacking in information, but there is some of the history of Mansfield industrial past, which was very interesting. If you have never been go with the intention of visiting the surrounding area you would not be disappointed.Guest review bypamUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Very nice town/village and everyone is very friendly. 1.
Very nice town/village and everyone is very friendly. 1. St. Mary Church is a must visit and we learnt a lot from Peter. 2. Major Oak is another must, we walked around the forest twice. 3. Also in morning we bought very nice cheese and sausage roll from Goff's butcher.Guest review byLI-CHUNDenmark - 10.0
We had a lovely stay at Grange House.
We had a lovely stay at Grange House. It was perfect location for an event the next day at Holme Pierre Pont. We were able to take our little dog and he was made to feel very welcome. Kevin recommended a local pub for an evening meal in the village of Lowdham called the Swan. The food and reception were excellent. We would certainly stay here again.Guest review byrobertUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Ollerton is a lovely quiet village, there was an area to play with a football which was handy with kids. The walks nearby on Sherwood heath were great too. A pub/meals within walking distance. It was a little bit sad to see a couple of the pubs and cafe closed down in the village, much like everywhere else though, a sign of the times.Guest review byAnnisUnited Kingdom
