Food excellent and reasonably priced. Probably the best food I've had on trip to the UK. Owners and staff really made our stay. extremely helpful and great fun aswell. Our group of 6 were extremely impressed with all aspects of the accommodation. Also we were going racing in cheltenham and it was a perfect location to get to the track, only 30 miles. I thoroughly recommend the Bird in hand Inn.

Charming English countryside location. Cozy, impeccable room with all the necessary facilities and a great shower. The food was great, including the delicious breakfast offer and tasty lunch dishes. All the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive to detail. The inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the pub was enchanting and it all felt like a real home away from home. The plus, for us dog lovers, was encountering other guests who were staying with their beautiful dogs in the various dog-friendly rooms available. Congrats to the GM and all his team for creating such a delightful atmosphere - thank you for a wonderful stay. I look forward to visiting again soon.

I love history, old architecture, and historic towns so Oxford was a perfect getaway for me. I stayed in a very central hotel, so I walked everywhere - therefore I can't comment on ease of using public transport. I visited the Ashmolean Museum. You could spend a year there and still not see everything, so I would have loved to have more time there. I did the 30 minute Bodlean Library Tour as they were sold out of the longer ones... I would go back to Oxford just to do the extended tour. I travelled myself which meant I could pick and choose my favourite activities and perhaps plan what to do when I go again, I went during the winter break. If and when I go again it would be in the warmer months because I would love to take a river cruise.

An interesting and prettymarket town with, of course, the attraction thar is Bicester Village. The traffic in the town and around is horrendous, because of the Village I imagine, but it's a good base for exploring Oxfordshire and Gloucesterchire.

We used it to be near an excellent camping site where family members had a campervan and from where we could visit the beautiful Cotswold countryside, towns and villages. As ours was a short stay we didn't spend time exploring the town.

My room had windows that were boarded up with shutters, once opened they revealed windows that were mouldy and with gaping holes. The bathroom had a shower that was red hot (and no option to reduce the temperature) and floor tiles that were cracked and loose. The bathroom sink had a tap that had a top piece missing leaving a hole that was full of dirt.

Henley on Thames is a vibrant, upmarket town situated on the River Thames, equally brilliant for shopping, lots of attractions and seasonal events like the famous Henley Regatta. From eating out to summer picnics by the river with the bandstand and open air jazz and music festivals. Geared more for adults with discerning tastes, appetites and trendy partying.

I actually spent most of my time enjoying the architecture of the smaller villages around Thame. I found the little 13th century church of Great Haseley very charming. It had a war memorial to the Americans who died protecting the area and its authentic old architecture and church yard were just what I had in mind. Great Milton is dominated by its very expensive manor hotel but I hear the dining is worth the trip if you have the coin.
