The location is perfect, the house is immaculate, there's a garden to sit in with a glass of wine, weather permitting. Fabulous shower. Fully equipped kitchen for those that like to eat in. The hosts were attentive and responded straight away with my question about parking.

A superb B&B in a rural setting. Our hosts, Jonathan and Mary, could not do more for us. In fact, at their insistence, they washed and ironed a load of our dirty laundry. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, with a choice of cereals, juice, yoghurt and fruit compotes, as well as your choice of a cooked breakfast.

An amazing, eco-friendly, tiny house with a lovely rural outlook. Very charming & cosy. The wood stove kept the room nice & warm. Despite the terrible weather we were warm & dry. We felt we had been transported back to the shire! The shower was hot & the bed comfortable. The deck would be amazing in drier weather with its BBQ & outdoor wood stove. The cooked breakfast was very tasty. Trevor was very friendly & helpful. He is passionate about his conservation work & his further plans.

We stayed for two nights in a Large Double Room with Private Bathroom as opposed to the regular double room and it was well worth it. The room and the bed were huge and very comfy and the added touch of complimentary fluffy dressing gowns was much appreciated. Breakfast was good too and with 2 pubs within easy walking distance for evening meals we were very happy with our choice.

A beautiful old town with lot of very good ancient pubs. The church is spectacular - but then it does get 5 stars in the 1000 English Churches guide. Th castle - although a ruin is well worth a visit.

    Friendly little place.

Friendly little place. We had the best sandwiches ever in the bakery in the high street. Home made cakes and fabulous breads and fruit loaf. Sat in and had a cuppa for lunch. Had the best fish and chips in the Kings arms around the corner. It was a Tuesday night and they were all booked up, no wonder!!! They slotted us in thankfully. Great little place, antique shops, chocolate shop/ gifts. Worth a day out there.

Bishop’s Castle is a lively and historic market town, full of character and charm. It offers an array of independent shops, welcoming pubs, and a variety of accommodation options. There’s plenty to explore in and around the town, making it a fantastic base for walkers. It lies close to the famous Offa’s Dyke Path, along with many other scenic walking routes. The locals are friendly and welcoming, and weekends often bring a delightful craft fair to the town hall, adding to the town’s vibrant atmosphere. Nearby towns worth visiting include Welshpool, Oswestry, Ludlow, Church Stretton, Knighton, and Presteigne. If you're looking to venture a bit further, Hay-on-Wye, Hereford, Leominster, and Brecon are also within reach and offer even more to discover.

Leintwardine in itself was not our primary destination, or the reason for this visit. However, as a base to tour the area, it offers enough local restaurants. I like The Lion. For those travelling by car, please take advantage of the local filling station. Must be the cheapest fuel in England and worth queueing up for!

    A lovely, tranquil little town.

A lovely, tranquil little town. Two great pubs- White Horse has good food & micro brewery, whilst the Sun had a great selection of local beers and a real old pub atmosphere. Clun has interesting old cottages and a ruined castle. It's very picturesque. The locals were friendly and welcoming. We had a great time at the annual greenman festival.

We had a great stay at Craven Arms and were made to feel very welcome. There was bread, milk and a few treats wating for us on arrival, which we really appreciated. The house was well maintained and a great size for a family of 3 and a good location to explore Shropshire and beyond.

Because one of us can only walk for short distance we used the park and ride at the eco park just off the A49. Free parking and return bus trip to town centre for £2 each. Cheaper than parking. Best place to visit, Stokesay Castle just outside of Ludlow. Worst, the Squirrel with greasy spoon type food and overpriced drinks.

The town is small, able to walk across in twenty minutes.

The town is small, able to walk across in twenty minutes. The area is easily visited but not at all well known. As hilly as the Lake District, with ideal walking country in every direction, except that the hills are lower and nearer the town than is the case at (say) Keswick or Ambleside. And, of course much nearer the South or the Midlands. I've been visiting the area for many years.
