- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 118 reviewsWe were expecting great facilities and comfort, from the photos and reviews, but they really don’t show how amazing this place is! The lodge was clean, warm and comfortable. Decorated and furnished to such a high standard, with everything you could possibly need and set in such a picturesque location. The hot tub was amazing!Guest review byMariaUnited Kingdom

We were attending a wedding in a local village, so on this occasion, didn't see much of Taunton. However, our previous experience of the town is that it is well worth a visit. Lively and interesting.Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom - 10
I used to live in Wells so I am biased.
I used to live in Wells so I am biased. It is a small city with a big heart. Every tiny street, every archway, every corner you turn brings you another delight for the eyes. It has high street shops, and artisanal crafts. Eateries and pubs to cater for many tastes. And whether you are driving or using public transport, there are so many historical places to see in Wells and the surrounding countryside. And if you are a fan of the ”Hot Fuzz” film, you can recognise locations. It is easy to walk anywhere, and even easier to hop on a bus to Glastonbury for a totally different vibe. Promise yourself you will visit Wells. Your future self will love you for it. 😁🌻🐝Guest review byAnonymous - 2.0
Bridgwater is a sad place.
Bridgwater is a sad place. The river trade, upon which its very existence depends, is gone and Bridgwater is not developing a replacement economy. The few shops still open are quiet, charity shops or selling vapes or other useless trash. A depressing place to visit. I stopped here to find Somerset wicker basket sellers. They've gone online!Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 10

Due to our commitments we arrived late at the property. Was difficult to find somewhere to have a meal. Unfortunately ended up in McDonalds which disappointing. Appears to be a curfew after 9.30. Not an appealing place to place in the evening.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The Cinema great with excellent Downton Abbey Film at reasonable price. Evening meals found Queens Heat just off off main square offered good food and was not noisey. Enjoyed also Fish & chips supper on The Parade just around corner. Railway trip on steam train to Watchet was nice and return on bus convenient. Sort bus trip to Porlock Weir Harbour plus drik in local Pub was most enjoyable. At this time of year bus services were limited as we had no car but in Summer the Buses to Ilfracombe etc would have been good to tryGuest review byBerryUnited Kingdom - 10

So much in so small a town , Clarks Village well worth a visit or two. Excellent food at Tamburinos Italian , and at the other end of the scale also at The Lantokay , with cheap beer as well! Great streets to walk down with lots of interest and feeling quite safe after dark. Glastonbury is just up the road - another world of hippies, incense, organic food, colour and spectacle - very quirky!Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 10

Liked · EXCEPTIONALLY PEACEFUL AND CLEAN ACCOMMODATION. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. From the moment we we arrived at Maplestone we were made to feel really welcome. Alan showed us to our room and made us a pot of tea with cake and sat with us in the garden, great service. Alan is an excellent host with a friendly, professional manner with great local knowledge. The accommodation is very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. Exceptional breakfast was plentiful and delicious with great choice. The property has a beautiful, quiet garden with tables and chairs to relax in. Would definitely stay again. Well done Alan and thank you for your making us feel so welcome.Guest review bySteveUnited Kingdom - 10

Delightfully old town especially Silver Street with its old shops, market square and fine church. Highlight was revisiting Sweet Surprise, which is still run as it did many years ago - charity tea room/sweet shop/bakery/ arts and crafts souvenirs.Guest review bygerryUnited Kingdom
