Rooms were large and modern and well decorated. The biggest shower we had and they provided high quality the personal products to use. The Manager was a great young man who took care of everything and they provided a nice breakfast basket and some treats. I was pleasantly surprised by a room above a bar/restaurant, it was quiet and very clean.

the breakfast was fantastic as was our dinner the night before. This place is a hidden gem! The little beer garden in the back of the hotel is adorable... The staff, Fiona the owner and Claire could not have been nicer and more accommodating! I highly recommend this 400 year old inn to anyone wanting a true Scottish experience!

The Winnock is the oldest Hotel in the UK. It was full of character and charm. The location was perfect for exploring the Trossachs. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were amazing! Had a really great time here. We ate dinner there on both nights and the staff were outstanding. The meals were huge! Very nice family room (heaps of space) and beds were so nice. Hotel was having some minor renovations but we didn't notice any noise or disruption. Very happy to stay here again.

The fact that we stayed beside the grounds of the Battle of Bannockburn was fantastic, great history, unfortunately the visitor centre was closed during our stay. We were there for the history and were not disappointed, taking in the Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Battle of Bannockburn, The Kelpies, and the Falkirk Wheel. Having a rental vehicle with built in navigation was a bonus and made getting around so much easier than if doing so strictly by map.

A small village in Scottish Highlands. I'd recommend to have a short stop there if you are going more up North. Aberfoyle is a nice little town with a some nice (tourist) shops . We liked the sheepdog display in front of the Scottish Wool Centre best. Very informative show with different types of sheep, a sheepdog that guides some ducks along a parcours. The show lasts 30mins and is for FREE. Great food at restaurant Fairie Tree Inn. Easy walk (30mins return) to a nice waterfall and a feeding place for red squirrels and lots of birds from the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre. Glasgow in easy distance (45mins by car).

We expected it to be nice but when we arrived we were simply blown away by the lodge and the peaceful park it is based in. The lodge was spacious and clean and had everything a family needed for a relaxing break. The bedrooms were great and the shower and bath facility was also top class. The WiFi was as good as anywhere I've ever stayed and the park with private beach was truly spectacular. We couldn't recommend this place more if we tried and will be coming back every year as the owner was very helpful and friendly as well.
