- From US$124.55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 1,228 reviewsIf you like 70s retro, this is perfect; because it's not retro, it's the real thing. Built in the early 70s, less modernised and more very well maintained, it's kept it's 70s look and feel. The rooms are small, but comfortable and spotless. The staff are friendly & helpful, especially the night porter & driver who arranged transport to the airport for me. They are in the process of updating many of the rooms. I really hope they keep a handful they way they are.Guest review byGrahamSaudi Arabia

Glasgow is brilliant - there is so much to see and do.
Glasgow is brilliant - there is so much to see and do. Its not a "touristy" city in that it doesnt have a well defined tourist zone, its a fully functioning working city. Having said that, it has brilliant museums, restaurants and shops. Some seriously urban areas, then a few minutes away, great parks. You might need to plan a little more than other places, but its well worth it. The West End (Byres Road), Kelvingrove, Glasgow green, and the centre are all brilliant. Ardnamurchan was a great place to et, but there are many othersGuest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Oban is a vibrant place with it's facilities.
Oban is a vibrant place with it's facilities. Easy access to the ferries for island visits and any amount of eateries to an individuals taste. Buses to Glasgow and Edinburgh daily also buses South and North along the coast.Guest review byGeorge WUnited Kingdom - 4.0
The lobby area was great. Loved the decor!
The lobby area was great. Loved the decor! I loved all the seating areas. Loved the bar and coffee stations. The rooms were bad. The carpeting was taped up with electrical tape. The shower curtain had mold on it. The body wash dispenser was not filled. It was empty. One of the lightbulbs was out. The beds were so hard and uncomfortable. It seemed like the lobby area did not belong to the same hotel as the bedrooms. Did love the convenience of walking to our early flight.Guest review byJosieUnited States - 6.0

Visited Ayr for a family 80th birthday, so not a lot of time in the town itself. But visited local pub / restaurant the Fox & Willow, great food and surroundings, the staff are great. Had a long walk along the promenade which was lovely and pleasant. Plenty of parking for all vehicles including motor homes.Guest review byStuartUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Nothing to do with the location ..but..the bus from Buchanan bus station dropped us off on the outskirts of Balloch on a very busy duel carriageway..which took ages to cross safely..why don't they terminate in Balloch's own bus station...much safer as we had to walk 15 mins to get to our accomodation in rough tarain... I'd hate to think of elderly people having to endure this ... shocked to be honest...nothing to do will The Tillie Inn..maybe something should be changed to prevent this.as it has put me off getting the bus...Guest review byTownsley - 8.0

Good parking and good local facilities - local church, nearby restaurant, and, should you need it, a large supermarket. The room faced the road but there was no road noise whatsoever! Good room decor and clean - but a cheeky spider lurking in the bed gave my wife a fright!Guest review byLESZEKUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I took a fishing rod and on the first night had bbq mackerel on the banks of Loch lomand as its very close. The hills are walking distance from the hotel so on the second day we walked up Ben ime. The views are spectacular if you have not been to the west of Scotland you willl be impressed and the location is so close to Glasgow, difficult to believe a large city is so close.Guest review byDr BeeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I think Robert Burns is an amazing writer but he's all wrong about Inverary. It's a friendly town with wonderful shops, amazing food especially if it comes out of Loch Fyne. Stay at The George Hotel and Charlie, Sam, and the entire staff will create lifetime memories for you.Guest review byMarkUnited States
