It was already a excitement journey to come there. The lodge is located next to the beach, and next to a beautiful nature “ park”. Sheriffo the manager did all, more then all to make us happy ! He really took good care of us, I never had that experience in other lodges in the Gambia!

The location is a bit hidden, but well located in a quired area. It is safe and locked and car can be put inside the compound.
The apartment has two rooms and a bathroom, so it is spacious and comfortable.
The owner is very quick in answering any questions and booking was easy.
There is also a taxi driver available, who can get you around or can pick/drop you at the nearby Airport.
The people taking care there are very helpful in all topics.
A small shop and a good local restaurant can be found within 10 mins walk.
I recommend the place

The residence is in a quite and safe area, great for people who like calmness. The studios are looking way way better in real life as well. They have everything you need, including a small mini store to buy the essentials for the first day and a laundry system. In the area you can really see the real Gambia and what it really looks like away from the really touristic areas.
The hostesses are AMAZING people, always willing to help and give advice and make people have the best experience from the very first beginning. Their hospitality is on another level and they really know how to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated their own way. Literally we couldn’t book anything better. We extended our booking and cancelled another resort we’ve booked before to stay here longer. Recommending this 1000%😁

To get there you need to get the ferry from Banjul to Barra.
To get there you need to get the ferry from Banjul to Barra. Then Sheriffo will organise a motorbike ride up to the lodge along the beach. The island is lovely and green and quiet. You can visit 4 villages and 2 of them cross the border into Senegal. I would recommend the village visits and the local school. The school is in need of support so do visit and offer any support you can.
I loved the island. If you want quiet then this is the place.
