New ZealandWhere do I start? Our spotless apartment was equipped with everything. Roomy and cool, with a large dining table, seating area, good wifi for working and a super well equipped kitchen that opened to a pretty patio where we enjoyed eating the amazing breakfasts which were delivered every morning. Upstairs the bedroom was cool and quiet with a/c which wasn’t always necessary. We used the upstairs bathroom which had a fixed shower head above and great drainage. Best of all is the wonderful hospitality and kindness of our host. She made our stay feel like a holiday, taking care of us in the best possible way.

Cosy and well stocked rooms in Mediterranean style. Big outside space with beautiful view and flowers. The staff is fantastic. Easyly arranged free pick up from port/airport, efficient and quick communication and delicious breakfast fresh out of the bakery in the morning.

Everything! The room was spacious, modern, clean with all the amenities you could want and need. There was a nice sized balcony too! The bathroom was very contemporary with a huge shower, loved the basin with all the shelving to put your toiletries……all hotel bathrooms should have these! Downside however was the space provided between the toilet and basin….very tight. Loved the added touch of the welcome breakfast pack as well as the wine! The room was exactly as the photos on the website depicted. Very happy, would definitely recommend and stay there again should we ever go back to Astypalea!

What a beautiful escape!! Kalderimi Residencies is perfectly located, a few minutes walk, close to Chora & Livadi beach. The apartment spotlessly clean and very tasteful with an exceptional view over the bay. The breakfast just absolutely delicious! The whole team is an example of Greek hospitality. Warm, kind - just wonderfully Greek.

Everything. Kallichoron is a gem just in front of the Chora and its castle. The whole staff is always kind and helpful. The breakfast has plenty of choices and everything is amazing. I wish I didn’t have to leave.

The town is built on a very steep hillside, with most of the restaurants and bars at the top. In the summer there is a bus that runs from the beach to the top. If you come by ferry, check the sailing times, as most are middle of the night and the main port is not at Pera Gyalos. The roads leave a lot to be desired.

Analipsi is a gorgeous village in Astypalea.
If you are looking for a relaxed and peaceful stay, a gorgeous clean beach, low key cafes and restaurants (lots of fish dishes and seafood) it is THE perfect place to go. No noisy bikes / scooters. Perfect for couples (not much for children) wanting a stress free break.
Car hire would be beneficial to get to the Chora (a 15 minute drive) and enjoy the excellent views, and sample the lovely food. But it is possible to do without a car, using the bus or the "Astybus" which will pick you up on request.

Magical views, great food, good restaurants ( from 1/2$-$-$$) close to Livadi beach ( steep but walking distance) close to port . Cheap taxi service.5€ to get around.Astybus (electric small busses)picks you up where every you are ( cheap). Very friendly locals.

Another cute Greek island.
Another cute Greek island. I have been to 15+ Greek islands over 50 times in total. It is similar to many other Greek islands. Small, cute. The castle and the old town looks really lovely. We went in mid-August. Although the island had probably around 5000 visitors, because there are few restaurants and options, all places were packed. Most of my Greek friends consider Astypalaia as the best Greek island, however in my view it's fine, cute, but I wouldn't say it's more beautiful than many other Greek islands.
