Barbara was kind, friendly and communicated well with me even though I was unable to come and stuck in Australia. She was happy to host our son and his two friends instead. We are so thankful for this!
This review is completed through my experience communicating with Mentor and my son’s opinion of the hotel having stayed there.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the view from the bedroom of the bay was stunning.
Breakfast was an amazing selection of homemade cakes, biscuits, rice pudding, sweets and other delicious goodies.
We will come back to Mentor when we return to Ithaki.

So many aspects are viscerally pleasant, from the feel of the floor to the color of tiles (blue-green) in the bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen. Everything spotlessly clean. The lady we met on the first day, who cleans the house, was very kind. The man who came to meet us shortly after arrival, Nectarios, was also really nice. They were both helpful and happy to answer any questions. The young lady came back to empty bins, change sheets, towels etc (if we required, which we didn't) after two nights. She also watered flower pots etc. We were at most a ten minute stroll from the village. It was wonderful to sit outside on the terrace, soaking in the view, or having lunch. It was equally lovely to lounge on one of the four sofas reading a book or chatting. In essence, a very comfortable house with an absolutely breathtaking view - one of the most beautiful I've ever had in any place I stayed.Guest review bySileIreland

It is overlooking a beatiful small beach and the view from the terrace is absolutely stunning. You won't get tired of it. There is everything you may need for a comfortable stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean and cleaned every day. There is enough parking space in the yard. There are even some sunbeds on the beach for the guests of Forkis. A beautiful harbour and working town, it is a really friendly place with a large number of good restaurants. It wasn’t too busy when we visited in late September. The local beaches are clean with clear blue water. We particularly liked Filiatro beach about 10 minutes drive away which has beach beds for rent and a good taverna. I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town. There are however lots of restaurants and coffee bars, many catering for the boating community, as this is a popular stopping place for people cruising round the Ionian on small to bigger boats. Everywhere within Vathi is very walkable. Frikes is a lovely place, but as we were getting towards the end of the season, and what with all the restrictions caused by Covid, 2 or 3 nights could have been better, with a 2 or 3 night hop at the other end of the island perhaps? Luckily, Aristotelis Apartments were so nice, it didn't matter, and we loved every minute of our stay. There are 3 nice, very small pebbly coves/beaches between Frikes and Kuoni. The water was so crystal clear you can see the bottom for quite a depth. Snorkelling was real fun. Lots of different fish. The little beaches each had a long stone built bench you could sit on. some of the bench would be partly shaded by trees. These beaches weren't serviced with showers, toilets or bars.
