The hotel is full of art pieces with a lady's touch ( the mother off the family) in every direction you can see. Paintings, snall statues, paintings on pebbles, etc. Rooms are very clean. I enjoyed the breakfast which is clearly Mediterranean. The hotel' staff is very helpful. There are nearby restaurants which serve delicious food in walking distance. The beach and the sea in front is one of the cleanest and the best beach you can find. If you are fond of cats there are plenty of them.

This hotel had just gotten renovated and it was absolute delight! Everything was fresh and new, we had a room facing the sea side which had a lovely nice but small balcony. The room had all of the modern facilities you need (not common in Greek islands unless you pay a lot of money) so it was a great experience. The location is a very short walk from the ferry terminal and right on the seaside walk close to everything. I would stay here again without a doubt.

FAQs about hotels in Samos

The “Green Island”

Birthplace of the Greek mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras, Samos is an impressively green island with beautiful beaches, lush pine forests and traditional villages. Situated in the East Aegean Sea, right across the shores of Minor Asia, this unique island is renowned for its wine, olive oil and honey production.

Named after Pythagoras, the ancient fortified port of Pythagoreion was built on the ruins of the ancient city of Samos and is the birthplace of astronomer Aristarchus. Today, Pythagoreion is a popular tourist fishing town with picturesque whitewashed narrow streets and the oldest artificial harbor in the Mediterranean.

Located on the northern side of the island, the imposing town of Karlovasi is the second largest of the island. Home of the Mathematical Department of the Aegean University, Karlovasi is a popular student town with stunning churches and charming mansions.

Samos has a beach for everyone. The lovely pebbled beach of Kokkari has deep blue waters and is ideal for water sports lovers, while the long sandy beach of Psili Ammos is perfect for relaxation.

Rich in cultural and historic heritage, Samos has modern accommodation to enjoy an unforgettable stay. Booking.com offers a selection of hotels, apartments and guest houses for you to choose from.

Excellent summer vacation. Many thanks to Samaina personnel and managament for making this dream vacation possible. We stayed in a room with a sea view. The sea was calm on two days and very rough on one day and we enjoyed both the calm water and the strong waves. The beach has stones and pebbles for a few meters and then sandy sea floor with shallow waters for around 50 meters. Bonus of the vacation was the variety of delicious food. In every meal there were delicious options for meat lovers, rich salad bar, fruits and deserts. The western, northwestern breeze eased the warmth of the day. The staff, especially Chara, Stelyos, Nikos, Maria, Leita, Eva, were there to help you enjoy the best of your holiday. The Rock night was very enjoyable, thanks to the two-piece band. Many thanks!

I stayed in Samos-Vathy because it was close to where I'd take the ferry to take me back home to Türkiye. Excellent and affordably food, friendly folks. I managed to rent a car from Hertz (a VW IQ3) and drove around a little bit. Be careful driving out there -- the roads can get narrow, and the scenery is too beautiful, so go slowly to enjoy it all.

Beautiful little town. Cute streets, crystal clean water. Heaps of restaurants along the two sides of the ocean front. Definitely a great spot to stay. Kokkari beach is very long. It does get the wind so has a few waves. An easy 2km walk along footpath takes you to Lemonakaia and Tuamadou beaches which are calmer and beautiful.

Plenty of shops and bars in the new town. The old town was completely unspoilt and it was lovely to wander around the very steep streets taking in all the wonderful views but be warned take trainers as some of the streets were slippy in sandals The bars restaurants and cafes in the port area were really charming and you could while away an hour or two here Beaches not brilliant although loungers comfortable and free but associated with a cafe Potami beach only a 20 minute walk around the headland and that was a lovely beach again free loungers at the cafes

Small and peaceful village for those seeking for peace and relaxation. All the restaurants are near, you don't need the car unless you want to explore other villages and towns. Nice pebble beach with shallow water. Heraion was within walking distance from Ireon and is a must-see, if you are interested in history. From Heraion it wasn't too long way by foot to Pythagorion, about one hour walk (but after exploring Heraion and Pythagorion we came back to Ireon by taxi, which cost 13 euros). In Pythagorion you can find souvenirs and shops and it also has beautiful, authentic alleys. From Pythagorion you can take boat trips to other towns or Turkey. In Ireon there are just a few mini markets, a pharmacy etc. so if you want to buy clothes or souvenirs (other than postcards or something like that) you have to go to Pythagorion or somewhere else. Best restaurants: Akrogiali, Venetia and Cafe and Bar Idyli (the beach bar).

This feels like a boutique slightly upmarket place. Very pretty and picturesque but crowded. People are friendly and helpful, though. The beaches are very small and totally full of umbrellas. Not very relaxing at all. But good links, busses, affordable taxis to main town and archaeological sites. Also a catamaran ferry service to other islands. Ikaria, for example, is doable as a day trip. Enjoy the buzz in Pythagora but find a relaxing beach elsewhere.

Vathy is a small town with so little to do. You can take a coffee in a bar or take a walk in promenade. It is not a lively town at all. No information about buses, or other facilities for tourists. Unfortunately the quality of food in the restaurants is mediocre or bad. I have eaten the worst squid of my life. I have been to many Greek islands and Aegean coast of Turkey to tell a good fried calamari from the bad one.

Kokkari is a very pretty old town .

Kokkari is a very pretty old town . There are plenty of places to eat , tavernas, cafés , bars and to relax in. It is not a party / night club resort. It is peaceful with no drunken behaviour. We do not go in August so I do not know if young people go then. It tends to be older people when we go. Although I think the beach is beautiful I do not think it or the sea is suitable for young children. The stony beach is quite hard to walk on so is not suitable for people who have walking difficulties. There are also enough small supermarkets to get provisions and bread / cake shops.
