One of the most beautiful locations we have visited. Exceptional Facilities and superb food quality. The best aspect was the excellent staff and how hands on they were to our needs and requirements. The owner also came down and gave us a private tour of how they produce their own olive oil and how many awards it garnered. He also gave us a thorough explanation of the types of oil that can be produced and how beneficial there were. Overall one of the best stays we have experienced. Thank You Villa Nai 3.3

Such a beautiful apartment. Pictures tell their own story. The 10 is due to the attention to detail, it's well equipped, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, furnished and the owner Sasha goes above and beyond.

This was a well equipped apartment and a good base to visit the island. We visited off season and the host was very helpful, with great communication and agreeing to our request for a later check out. We were unfortunate with the weather during our visit, so we were very grateful for a comfortable place to stay!

The only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Our hosts are absolutely lovely, and the house is more than perfect, secluded with its own private beach. An unforgettable memory

The location; the sound of the breeze through the pinetrees and the sound of the waves you can hear from the room. The sea within a few minutes' walk. Breakfast is simple, but good! The fact that it is included in the room rate is a definite plus. The hotel is not the most recent, but my room was spotless and the towels smelled nice. There is a frige in the room and for who wants, a TV. Plus plenty of space to store your things in the room and bathroom. These details matter to me personally. The staff were very friendly and service minded. Special mention to Sylvia behind the reception desk who made me feel as if I was a regular guest as from the beginning. With her sparkling enthusiasm, she shared plenty of tips about things to do and what to see on the island. I enjoyed my stay very much and can't wait to go back!

The apartment contained all necessary amenities, and had 3 balconies offering stunning views in all directions, and fresh lemons from the garden and olive oil made by the hosts. The hosts were very welcoming, offering a quick tour and drink before giving us our privacy for the duration of our trip. Before our departure we had a lovely conversation with them over a homemade drink. We highly recommend! Note: The very quiet town does not have any shops during off season (mid-April). Plan to bring your own food or drive to a larger town nearby for shopping.

If you want a perfect gateway from everything, this place is a destination for you. Everything is relaxed and you have a feeling that you own a whole place for yourself. It’s not a perfectly clean, but it has island vibe, force you to be simple, modest and to enjoy your island experience. Sea view is amazing, and cricket song is the only thing you will hear. Host is nice and gave us the room with sea view upgrade.

Sali is a nice small town with good restaurants.

Sali is a nice small town with good restaurants. The beaches are very calm but there is no sand beach, so you have to lay on the rocks. We rent a scooter to discover the rest of Dugi Otok. Highly recommend visiting Brbinjscica cave and Sakarun beach.

Little village full of nice people that are greeting you every time they see you. 2 stores, Studenac is well equipped. Nice beaches, enough space for everybody, so you feel like there is nobody with you. Super clean and clear sea, beautiful blue and green colors. 4 restaurants, all kinds of food for everybody. A lot of cats 😊 Super calm place for vacation without any compromise.

As much as Luka is very Tourist dependent, it has a rich culture of locals who return for the summers. This makes it a very Croatian village with a ton of charm. Eat at the Konoba (really good food!) or at home (the village market has a reasonable selection and better prices than the nearest grocery store), swim anywhere, bring a book - the internet and cell coverage is spotty - and relax!

Zman and other small villages on the island of Dugi Otok...

Zman and other small villages on the island of Dugi Otok were the perfect getaway from the busy city life. Nature all around. Local slow village life. You need to rent a car to get around comfortably around the island. We mostly made our own food in the apartment.

A small village slightly descending to the harbor.

A small village slightly descending to the harbor. It has 2 restaurants - Gorgonia and Branco and one small grocery. In near proximity there is a nice small camping Madarino also with a good restaurant. The location of Verunić is good for exploring the northern tip of the Dugi Otok island. All the sea around this village is rather sheltered from the outer ocean so it is coinvenient for swimming and paddleboarding. All interesting sites (Sakarun beach, the lighthouse...) are within few kilometers by car or bicycle and you need not to conquer steep slopes. Of course, to get there you need to take a ferry Zadar (Gaženica) - Brbinj (approx. 1.5hrs) and then drive some 15km North. So this is extra cost/time to the trip and you need to adjust to the timetable. In high season it might be practical to pre-book the ferry at jadrolinia.hr.

A lovely village with a small grocery shop, marina (renting bicycles and scooters), two restaurants and good paths for a stroll. Both the lighthouse and the Sakarun beach are within a walkable distance.

A small village with everything you need.

A small village with everything you need. We went to beaches all over the island. The advantage of Sali is the nearby national park Telascica. There was also an exceptional restaurant in Sali called Garoful. I highly recommend a visit.

Quiet coastal village with harbour on Dugi Otok.

Quiet coastal village with harbour on Dugi Otok. Has 3 reasonable restaurants, 1 shop, 2 hotels and a daily passenger ferry from Zadar. It is only about 2km across the island to sandy Sakarun beach and other nearby places. There is also a daily bus that connects Bozava with Veli Rat and Brbinj that has a car ferry to Zadar. Getting around the island is a bit limiting unless you hire a car on the mainland and bring it over on the ferry.

Sali is probably the best base to use on the island.

Sali is probably the best base to use on the island. It has a ferry to Zadar three times a day, loads (maybe 5 or 6) restaurants, a sizable supermarket and quite a few cafe's and taverns. It also has a helpful tourist office where you can rent cars or scooters, although these are not cheap. The only petrol station on the island is in the next village about 4kms away. Talascia NP is a 5 minute drive away from the town and well worth a day trip. All the beaches are shingle and aren't really beaches, just little coves. The very best is half way up the island and directly across on the opposite side of the island to Brbinj. Very difficult to find without google maps set to satellite mode which shows the actual concrete access road. A one hour drive will take you the full length of the island.

Dober dan! We had such a wonderful stay in Bozava!

Dober dan! We had such a wonderful stay in Bozava! The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was exceptional, the rooms were nice with a beautiful view of the sea and the village. The beds were very comfortable, clean room and the grounds were very well maintained. The restaurant's in the village were quaint with exceptional menus, food and service. The people in the village were kind and welcoming and we are already planning a return visit. The church service on Sunday was divine. The tour around the island was breathtaking. This visit exceeded all my expectations of my first of many visits to the island of Dugi Otok! Well done Bozava! What a gem!! Magnifico!
