This hotel I rate among the best in the category (it is definitely at least for a star higher!). I initially came for 4 nights, but then decided to extend for another 8 nights directly at the hotel. First, the hotel is at an excellent location, right across one of the Spa entrances and in a well-kept, peaceful park. The hotel staff are fabulous: all reception staff were fully professional, effective, and at the same time very friendly (I liked Jennifer and Tunde with whom I communicated most and in English or Serbian, but also all other staff that I could not remember the names of). Cleaning staff are caring and keep the room in a perfect condition; they were unintrusive and with full respect to guests privacy. The Internet link is 5G and worked impeccably. The dining room staff is likewise very effective, welcoming and keeping the buffet food in good quantity. The food quality was really exceptional (I had buffet breakfast and dinner), good variety, and very tasty - you really do not need a full board as breakfast and dinner will be quite enough. The hotel has also a nice garden with a pool. Another good thing is that there are enough parking places behind the hotel, and for the hotel guests, it is free. The car park looked very secure. Distance to the town centre is only around 15 min walking. Gyula is a small, charming and clean little spa town, but it also has a large Interspar, Tesco and dm superstores. The prices of extra drink in the hotel, and generally in Gyula, are quite affordable and lower than in majority other European countries. We arrived a bit later than originally planned, and yet someone was there waiting for us with a smile on their face. The room was large and comfortable, with a small balcony. A parking space was provided against a small fee. The walk from the Panzio to the entrance of the thermal baths is exactly 2 minutes. Szeged is a great place.
Szeged is a great place. Lovely old buildings, the river, the bars and restaurants are great and generally its cultural activities are also very good. The location as such was chosen by us precisely for those reasons. Our mishaps at the hotel were not the town's fault. We ate dinner at the John Bull, which has fantastic food and excellent beers and wines. The service was great there and it was at walking distance from our hotel. Local transport is great. The city center is very pretty, full of flowers in the parks and nice cafes all around. We really liked the market with all the local produce. There are really nice little shops on Rakoczi Street. Many restaurants offer a 2 course menu at lunch time for really great price. The Benko Zoltan Park is a great place to go walking, running or to have a pic-nick The big hill in the middle has a great view from the top. Great place to visit and enjoy. Lots of activities and things to do in the SPA park. The fact that it is located in a park and there are lots of trees and green lawns is a big advantage, The food inside the park is tasty and quite affordable. The town is nice and very clean and it has enough to offer, even in winter. The not-so-good aspect is that it is rather quiet in the evening, so it is not recommended for people who seek entertainment throughout the night. Hot springs were the best curative ever experienced. 20+ pools Restaurant is one of the best for an authentic Hungarian road house food experience. Staff are friendly. Room and facility was clean. Directly off the M5 motorway towards Budapest. Has free parking and 24 hour services. Safe as it has CCTV. Excellent restaurant and bar. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. We had our dog with us and she was facilitated too We all slept well as the room was sound proofed.Definitely great value for money .
