Kuta is now the quieter part of Bali.
Kuta is now the quieter part of Bali. Legian through to Canggu is the busier area now. Kuta is great for restaurants and bars. More suited to middle aged. Beach is not as good as Legian or Sanur, but acceptable.Guest review bysargentsteveAustralia - 8.0

this is an up and coming area in Bali. it looks like it will be upmarket from the shops, bars and restaurants that are already there. Its very busy and the traffic is hectic ( as is everywhere in Bali). Its a younger persons place as plenty of parties and activities. Would recommend to anyone under 40 that wants a hip vibe and action. if your older stick to SanurGuest review byDeannaAustralia - 8.0

a great mix of hustle & bustle, and the quiet of the villa when you needed recovery time, or needed the peace for a leisurely massage; very easy to get around with Gojek app (for food or transportation); the traffic is an annoyance thoGuest review byVinash - 10

Uluwatu is certainly the tourist destination for fitness and wellness lovers, or those that love the coast. The locals are extremely welcoming, and whilst I don't necessarily recommend it, you can travel most of it on foot compared to the rest of the island. The businesses are a lot more westernised and is a great first stop for your Bali trip experience.Guest review byConnor - 10

This is a great place to stay - plenty of shops, massage and restaurants - the beach is lovely with a lot going on all the time. Some good restaurants right on the beach and lots of surf schools etc. There are lifeguards in one area, not always marked and in the same place every day - not moved to the safest swim area. But there are nearly always very competent surfers around and lots of people keeping an eye out. But take care, the currents can be changeable. We keep coming back to this area.Guest review byCatherine AnnNew Zealand - 8.0
Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants.
Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants. Rooms are tired in need of upgrades and painting , but were clean and a very powerful shower. Staff were amazing and a good buffet breakfast with fresh omelette/pancakes. Pool area was relaxing and could do with a few more sunbeds. Didn’t get to the beach but a good shuttle service available. Supermarket and ATM just across the road.Guest review byJayneUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Jimbaran is a good place to spend the last days of your trip...
Jimbaran is a good place to spend the last days of your trip — it’s close to the airport and convenient for departure. I especially like the Sidewalk Shopping Centre, where you can find Western food, good coffee, and food giftsto take home. The fish market is also a highlight — it’s the only place where I trust eating local oysters, always fresh. The beach itself isn’t crystal clear like Melasti, but it’s clean and free from rubbish, unlike Seminyak or Canggu. For those who want to see a different, more local side of Bali, Jimbaran is a great choice. Just be careful when choosing accommodation — pick something near the beach and away from the main road, so you can walk easily and avoid the heavy traffic.Guest review byI.BettiblueAustralia - 8.0

We found a shop in Kerobokan where all the locals went to buy clothes etc, the prices were set and very reasonable if you didnt want to barter for everything Our villa was at the end of a driveway a fair walk from the shops etc, we couldnt find a salon nearby to have a massage. We were close to a laundry however and their prices were amazingly low and their services was excellentGuest review byGlenysNew Zealand - 10

Munggu and Seseh are at the leading edge of the ever expanding Canggu and for me by far and away the best areas to stay. Roads are less busy, lots of very stylish options for coffee and eating but still amongst nature and rice fields - though these are disappearing fast even here! Harder to find accommodation but well worth the effort if you value the qualities that made Bali famous in the first place. Still clinging to it's authenticity despite all the construction endemic in Canggu!Guest review byNeilGermany
