Very quiet and untouched part of Bali. Beautiful, long, near-secluded, coconut-tree-fringed beaches in Kaliasem, just ten minutes out of the main Lovina strip area. The area he’s like Bali 40 years ago. You are better off staying at a resort on the northern end of the beach, they are beautiful clean and with excellent food and staff, and away from the mosque. Eco Taste, Dimpil Beach Bar, Wrung Rama, The Sage excellent places to eat with cheap healthy fresh food. Nice relaxed rural/coastal Bali, great place to just wind it back and take time to slow down. Snorkeling, temple tours both great, hot springs are truely hot and well worth the visit (anytime of day or night), but I’ll mostly remember the friendly approachable people in the neighbourhood. Located outside of Singaraja by about 10kms is "OMunity Bali". It is situated in the traditional highland village of Sudaji.. To get to this location you need to make your own transport arrangements to go there and especially leaving is harder as the local Grab App doesn't seem to reach to here. OMunity prepared food is delicious and creative but eating out elsewhere didn't have much choice esp if vegetarian. The ambience is relaxing, friendly and uncrowded. It is great to stay in the north of Bali! Getting around takes time and requires a private driver. Management & Staff was just Wonderful and made all our wishes come true. Quiet and peaceful little town - reminded us of old Bali, when it was less busy and built-up. Plenty of restaurants and cafes without the hassle and noise of Legian, Seinyak etc. Not the most exciting place to shop, but great for peaceful walks along the beach. The area around Munduk is very hilly so it is good to be prepared for this if doing a lot of walking. If you don’t have your own wheels, you are mostly reliant on local transport/drivers,to get to a number of attractions in the area. We enjoyed a visit to the Lakes and the Botanical Gardens which were very peaceful. Walking the 5 local waterfalls from Golden Valley was a highlight, which took us most of the day.
