The location is superb, you have an entire island to yourself. The beach and the water are gorgeous. Also the price- quality is super good for the area, very affordable, the resort is in between homestays and ultra expensive resorts. Also, kayaks and SUP are included, as well as coffee/ tea/water. Dear James and family, Thank you so much for making our stay in Batanta so comfortable. We will always remember your kindness, our adventure at the waterfall and swimming with manta rays 🫶🏻 The home stay is exactly as described, really comfortable bed, cold water to shower and wonderful panorama. In front of the stay there is a coral reef where you can snorkel. We saw nurse sharks, stingrays, thousands of fish and beautiful coral formations. Somedays also dolphins visited us. If you wish you can do other activities like going to the nearby village which is one of the last traditionally built one in raja ampat. We went with James to swim with manta rays which was a great success as we saw two circling around for at least half an hour. Also, there are two waterfalls with a beautiful mangrove forest which is 30 mins by boat, we swam there and saw a bit of the jungle. The food was excellent, we were really happy to try local fish. It always had enough veggies, rice and egg tortillas. Even our vegetarian friends were satisfied. For the afternoon coffee we got freshly baked cakes. PRO tips for travelers: - Bring your own snorkeling equipment - Don’t litter and take your trash back with you to Waisai. At the port you can throw it away. - Be mindful about water usage - Use biodegradable hygiene products if possible - They don’t speak much English but for us it made it the experience even more authentic. if you need get an offline translation app

We had an unforgettable stay at this homestay! Luky, our host, was absolutely wonderful, he took us on so many activities and was an excellent guide, always making sure we had the best experience. His whole family was incredibly kind and welcoming. The homestay itself was beautifully decorated with care, and they even prepared a mattress on the balcony so we could relax facing the stunning view. We were warmly welcomed with fresh coconuts upon arrival, which was such a thoughtful touch. The meals were varied and absolutely delicious every day, and everything was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. We truly had a magical time and felt at home. I can’t recommend their kindness, hospitality, and the comfort of this homestay enough!

The location is really breathtaking, we were the first customers of the structure which had just opened that week. Amazing design and great services there is internet working fast and efficient and hot water. There is no diving center but those nearby based in Gam island can easily pick you up on the morning. The room was stunning, coherent with the surrounding environment as it was all wooden made, the perfect place to feel completely immersed and connected with nature. The sound of water is so relaxing and the view is difficult to describe with words. The chef is great! They serve food directly at the room or at he restaurant in case you feel like chatting with other guests! The lovely thing is also the fact that this lovely lodge is located in Friwen island a small island of 1 sqkm inhabited by a local village, which allows you to experience the real culture of the area. Local people are very kind and welcoming, we were there during New years holidays and we were lucky to experience the traditional night drumming from the village auspicious for the coming year. Rachid and Ekha are very fun, polite and willing to arrange small excursions, we went birdwatching on Gam island looking the for the paradise bird and he brought us with the boat for a ride among the mangroves and snorkeling with turtles. WOW! Will definitely gonna go back!

Pedro is amazing. He met me at the ferry terminal and took me to his guest house. The room was spacious with ensuite bathroom and Aircon which was incredible for the price. It was very clean, had a wonderful communal area with a library, tea, coffee and water station, and deck with a fantastic view back to town. Breakfast and dinner were included which was an added bonus. Pedro helped organise transport to the blue river which was very convenient and well priced and was very helpful with information about the area. And he even dropped me to the ferry when I left! Incredible service. Everything was amazing for a quick stopover in Waisai. I would definitely stay again. Thanks Pedro!
