We loved the loft, spacious and comfortable space. The pool is so relaxing. We liked that it was away feom the busy noisy center and easy access with our scooter. The food was lovely. The service was amazing.

A unique place and a wonderful host. Thanks to Jeki, we were able to experience Komodo in all its glory. Jeki took us on two walks around the village and its surroundings. We were able to see Komodo dragons up close without having to visit the nearby park. We got to know the local residents and our host's family. The room we stayed in had a terrace overlooking the bay, where we could admire colorful sunsets and watch the locals go about their daily lives. The conditions are rather basic, but this is compensated by the unique experience that Jeki provides. The host's wife prepared breakfast and dinner for us, taking into account our diets (vegetarian, pescatarian). I highly recommend taking advantage of Jeki's additional offers - renting a wooden boat and a full-day trip to nearby attractions, islands, diving with manta rays, watching underwater turtles and coral reefs are just some of the adventures that await you in Komodo. In addition, you can buy handmade wooden Komodo dragon figurines and other handicrafts in the village. For the locals, this is their main source of income, and for us, it is a unique souvenir. You can get to the island cheaply by ferry - Jeki will help and advise you on arranging transport from Lobuan Badjo.

I couldn't imagine better place in the Komodo village, where the rental business started just 6 month ago! Earlier you would even dream to live here with locals, now it is possible. The Jhuna Komodo Homestay is profesjonally prepared to visit tourists, the owner and also park ranger is a very smart and kind man, his wife cooks delicious meals, the house is perfect clean. Everything deserves the highest rating. Other disadvantages are due to the nature of the island. Highly recomended !

We had an amazing time at the homestay, we feel welcomed and part of the local community. Despite this experience may be out of your comfort zone and the village may be noisy at night or a little dirty with plastic, we really recommend it because we experienced one of the most beautiful moments of our trip to Indonesia that we will always carry in our hearts! The homestay is located in a small village in komodo island. We stay in a building at the second floor and we share the apartment with a local family that cooked good food for us. The rooms were simple but confortable with fan. The bathroom has a proper toilette and a shower. Jhojo paid a lot of attention to all our needs and he was very kind, friendly and speaks a very good english. He brought us to the best spots in Komodo National Park at the best time to avoid the crowd of tourists. Moreover he taught us how to live side by side with komodo Dragons, which live on the island! For the trip during the day we used a local boat, contributing to all the village economy, and we very appreciate this. We had an amazing time together and hope to come back one day!

This place is all about the rare privilege of staying on Komodo Island and immersing yourself in local life within a small fishing village. The people are incredibly welcoming, and the children play freely—no screens in sight, just real connection and joy. We ventured beyond the village to trek through the wilderness in search of Komodo dragons—and we weren’t disappointed. We even witnessed a pair mating, which was unforgettable. Our accommodation arranged a private boat for us each day (we stayed four days), allowing us to snorkel, trek, visit turtles and manta rays, explore nearby islands, and experience all the region’s natural highlights at our own pace. Harri, who looked after us on the boat, was fantastic—having spent his whole life in the area, he knew exactly where to go for the best sights and encounters. The food at our homestay was exceptional—fresh fish straight from the local boats every day. Accommodation is basic by Western standards, but comfortable enough—just make sure to bring insect repellent. Also, bring cash if you'd like to enjoy a beer—a large Bintang costs around 75k IDR—and don’t expect shops or amenities; this is a truly remote experience. Jahiding and his wife went above and beyond to make us feel at home. This isn't about five-star luxury or being herded around on crowded tour boats. It’s about embracing a different pace and way of life, and truly experiencing what it’s like to live here. We absolutely loved it.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay. The family who hosted us was very kind and helped arrange a local boat to take us to different beaches and snorkeling spots that were absolutely gorgeous (like manta point and pink beach). The host is a ranger at Komodo National Park and gave us a wonderful tour. It was very special to stay in the Muslim village on the sea and have a glimpse of life there. Everyone was very friendly and warm.

The resort is perfectly clean and the cleaning personnel refills your water bottles in the room each time you’ve emptied them…in my case 3 times per day. Also the restaurante is top! Breakfast buffet is offering a very broad choice and for dinner you can order Indonesian and international food. The quality of the food is really very very good! The personnel in general is exceptional friendly and always willing to help you. Also the Spa treatment I can recommend :).

Fairly expensive, not as developed, if you’re there for a boat tour, just get in and get out, not much to do there you can’t do in Bali or Lombok much cheaper. Can’t say enough about Sudamala Resort, reasonably priced if you book in advance and 5 star all the way.
