Brand new hotel, with excellent breakfast and convenient parking garage. Location is in the middle of an industrial area, outside the touristic Galway, which is a 10 minute drive. Not a problem for those driving.

Our stay at KC was a perfect one. Our room was spacious enough for our toddler to explore, with the big bed to jump in during the night, although Mr Little was provided with his own baby cot. Large bathroom with both shower and a bathtub to relax after a long day. Beautiful surroundings with couple of forest / lake trails and big lawns to squeeze out the baby energy before bed. Delicious breakfast and different options for dinner. After pre dinner drinks at the Dungeon bar we choose the casual dining in the Palm court (fantastic starters!!). The staff was welcoming and kind, and they indulged all of our questions and needs (luke warm milk as a night cap for the little :)

This place was absolutely beautiful! Everything about it was great, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the meals were great. Everything was so stylish and beautifully decorated. I was so impressed to see my favourite William Morris wallpaper in the restaurant! I loved sitting by the fireplace in the lobby reading my book. The grounds are stunning. Staff were very friendly. Eyre Square has been transformed into a magical Christmas food festival. The carousel ride was an authentic carousel victorian in style and charming—and for €5, it’s more than enough to enjoy a few moments of escaping to our inner child. The giant Ferris Wheel at night offered a breathtaking view of twinkling Christmas lights that dotted the cityscape, turning Eyre Square into a magical Christmas scene. West is best, they say, and well, I can't argue with that. Galway is a beautiful county, especially at Christmas time. Take a stroll around this historic city, share a drink with family or friends, and enjoy Galway during the festive season. Well done to everyone who put it all together!

One of my favourite Irish cities - Sligo has it all.

One of my favourite Irish cities - Sligo has it all. Great shops and event spaces including a great theatre and a sizeable event arena. The pubs are brilliant and offer entertainment year round. The city centre is very walkable and everything you need is close by. The restaurants on offer are among the best in Ireland including top spots like Eala Bhán and Hooked, locally owned and sourcing local high quality produce.

The town, the shops, the manners of all motor traffic, they don’t blow you off the road crossings if you are slow in walking due to injury. The people are friendly and shops off good value. We dined in the hotel Wytt for all meals and visited 3 pubs, the town landscape is excellent and Christmas lighting beautiful.

Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The National Museum of Ireland is just a few minutes drive away. Castlebar is ideally located for exploring County Mayo. The local library is excellent too with very friendly helpful staff who were only too willing to help with a little family history enquiry. We only stayed for one night and had our main meal in Lana, an Asian restaurant. The food was lovely and plentiful. So much so, we didn't bother with breakfast the following day.

I would fly into Shannon rather than Dublin as it was a fairly long drive to get there and back. Motorway most of the way which was quite quick then a lovely drive from Galway to Clifden. We visited Kylemore Abbey twice it was that lovely. We went to Westport for the day. Great artisan shops there. We visited Letterfrack and Leeann. We ate a couple of times in Off The Square in Clifden and the meals were lovely and fairly priced. Drove the Sky Road loops. All three of them. Beautiful views

Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants.

Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants. Breakfast tends to open at 09:00 and service ends about 21:00. Pubs stay open till 23:00 or so weekdays and 01:00 on weekends. The circle K is 24 hours. Some pizza places stay open and serve till 23:30. It has several men's and women's clothing shops. Pharmacies and gift shops. Other dry goods and a Supervalue and Tesco. It is a very walkable town and both the Castle and Old Abbey are a few walking minutes from downtown. We ate at the Cozy Cafe( closed Sundays), The Rogue Cafe and The Pantry for breakfast. All were very pleasant. We liked Ryan's Bar. Quietish and Michael was a great host/barman. We had dinner at Regans, Jackson's and China King. ~€100 for three adults with wine. We really enjoyed the walkable nature of the town. Especially, coming back to Tatlers Guesthouse after spending time at the pubs.
