We arrived down from Dublin airport after a delayed flight as the restaurant was closing - the receptionist Savio (?) voluntarily went and asked the kitchen staff if they would delay finishing so we could be served, they did and we were able to enjoy a great meal.
Johnny the waiter was also very helpful and obliging,
The room was clean, comfortable and quiet.
The mattress and pillows were also very comfortable.
There was an extensive selection at breakfast to choose from with good coffee.
Checkout was quick and friendly.
Wonderful staff and a comfortable stay.

Too-notch Irish hospitality! Such friendly, efficient and wonderful service staff - needed some help with one of our rooms and received prompt and effective help. Both our rooms were beautifully decorated, rigourously cleaned rooms with quality furnishings, toiletries and linens - the explanations of the historical figures and surrounds in the guest books added a lovely touch. Location is right in the middle of the town centre, next to Kilkenny castle.

Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were incredibly comfortable. Very rarely do I find hotel rooms quiet enough and at a good temperature to sleep. The beds were so cosy, quiet rooms considering city centre location and very spacious. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Definitely recommend

Kilkenny is very easy walk around with most attractions...
Kilkenny is very easy walk around with most attractions within walk distance of each other. There is a great selection of restaurants and pubs plus many coffee shops. There is a lovely river walk plus the castle grounds provide a quiet retreat from the city.

We had a walk around and found it to be very quiet, no loud noise we actually liked it. The takeaway food was fabulous and really good value. It was the perfect location for us as the event we were attending was only 17mins away.

A gorgeous rural location within easy walk of the pub, church and shop. The welcome was genuine and everything provided was of excellent quality. The property was beautifully decorated and the whole experience was wonderful. Dolores was a great host. Brilliant!!!

Inistioge was charming.
Inistioge was charming. We ventured into the village for supplies and the little store had everything. The pub staff were friendly, but you need to go early if you’re looking for a meal. It’s very busy. Our party wasn’t a walking party as it included two elderly ladies, but they loved the views from the benches. There is ample opportunity to walk and some lovely trails. If you like bird-watching there are lots to see including a resident heron that you can see from the bridge.

The village is located a short distance from Kilkenny city, which has a range of historic buildings, including one of the finest castles in Ireland. There are also some lovely, picturesques villages in the vicinity. The nearby Mount Juliet estate has one of the finest golf courses in Ireland and the area is famed for it's fishing for salmon and trout.

Kilkenny has a lot to offer.
Kilkenny has a lot to offer. A lot of history and a lot of historic buildings and nice shops etc. The Kilkenny Bookshop... excellent. Lovely ambiance there. Yesterday's shop is a lovely experience. Plenty night life for the more adventurous. We had a meal and breakfast in Rafter's and everything was lovely there. Weren't there long enough to visit any of the buildings but maybe next time.

Thomastown was an excellent base for visiting sites in Kilkenny, Dunbrody Famine Ship at New Ross, Waterford Crystal Factory, Hook Lighthouse among others. There are a number of closer places of interest such as Jerpoint Abbey. The only drawback was the lack of options for evening meals although Kilkenny is only a 15 minute drive away and fills the bill perfectly!

Beautiful stroll from the hotel to the discovery park and shops in the town.
Better planning of room allocation, especially if travelling with a young family and a function on in the ballroom.
More attention to cleanliness off rooms....hoovering of floors especially under beds.
Emptying and cleaning of coffee machines all surfaces dusted and cleaned down.
Evidence of any previous resident removed.

I don’t know it as a tourist centre in its own right but it is a reasonable car drive to other sights in the county south of Kilkenny City.
It,s a very convenient stop-off on the way to Rosslare evening ferry, with time to visit one or two sights on the way.
