I was expecting an older worn out hotel but this was very tastefully and recently updated. The bed was very comfy, reception and lounge areas smartly appointed and plentiful.

This was truly a special stay for us! The castle and grounds are stunning! we enjoyed walking around the grounds…lots to see! The staff were super kind and even put together a special “birthday” plate for my twins on their birthday breakfast. It made the stay super special!

I had a fantastic stay at the County Arms Hotel in Birr this April. The room was absolutely fabulous — spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained. The beds were large and incredibly comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. I really appreciated the attention to detail, from the lovely in-room coffee to the excellent breakfast that was delivered straight to the room — a real treat to start the day. Everything about the stay felt comfortable and relaxing. I’d definitely recommend the County Arms Hotel to anyone visiting the area, and I’d happily stay again.

Beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was great and the water was hot. Nice sized refrigerator and location was walking distance to town. The free parking was nice and we appreciate being able to pick up our key when we needed it.

The Harbour Masters House enjoys a location in Banagher, 12 miles from Cross of the Scriptures and 17 miles from Athlone Institute of Technology.

Darren was really welcoming and happy to share tips and recommendations. He was just a top bloke really and it was great sharing a pint with him at the pub. We really enjoyed our short stay.

Breakfast was tasty, Maura was very friendly and recommended some places in the town for dinner. The room was very spacious and clean. It was also nice and warm, which is important for me as I’m always cold! Location was brilliant. Doggo is also very cute!
