We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming boutique hotel in Armeno, nestled amidst the tranquil mountains. The fresh mountain air and breathtaking views added to the charm of the location. The staff was amazing and the atmosphere was unforgettable. We had no trouble reaching all the beautiful romantic sights, either by foot or by car. Our four-day stay was filled with delightful surprises. The love and attention to detail that went into creating this hotel were evident in every corner. The owner and the entire team went out of their way to ensure that we had a memorable experience. The evenings spent in the cozy restaurant were particularly special, catering to the taste of gourmets. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful and romantic holiday. Casa di Lago was just exactly what we hoped for - and more - just a short walk from the centre of town where the most difficult thing was deciding which restaurant to eat at. We loved our small terrace where we could breakfast or occasionally lunch - and the views from all of the bedroom balconies. But the best part for us was the private lakeside garden - I wouldn’t recommend it for children who cannot swim, as there is no really ‘shallow end’ - but for us it was simply bliss - time for a much needed relax. Reception staff were charming and very responsive, and there was free parking a short distance away. I can’t wait to return, hopefully bringing family and friends.

It is a lovely hotel in a beautiful part of Italy. We visited out of season and were upgraded to a room where it was imperative to contemplate the peaceful view across the lake, book in hand. The food is exquisite - just as good as the view from the breakfast and dinning rooms where sumptuous meals are served with smiling service. We spent two blissful days, relaxing and recharging for the next leg of our journey across Europe.

The property was so beautiful and the pool view was breathtaking There was also a very nice bistro/bar that overlooked the lake - La Cucina restaurant, with the same amazing view, served varied dishes, we had the tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was amazing The staff at La Darbia was welcoming and helpful All in all a perfect stay We will definitely visit again

There were market stalls on Thursday. Extremely helpful and patient locals (we speak a tiny, tiny amount of Italian). Great local takeaways, cafe's and restaurants. A couple of supermarkets if you really want them but why would you with all the local shops selling the best cheese, meats, bread and pastries.

Here, I was welcomed by a nice Italian Older Lady at Church who was from the town. Within a few days, I made friends with another Italian lady and her friend. It was good to get to know new people there. My neighbors were friendly to me too even though they didn't speak any English. I hope to go back to see them again. There was lots of Nature and Hikes. Lake Orta was 10 km away. Buses are accessible to there. Milan is 2 hrs by train from there. It was a Unique Experience for me in Italy.

If you are seeking peace, tranquility and natural beauty - this is the place for you. No children and gorgeous lake - much smaller than Como or Maggiore but you can easily get to Maggiore in 30 minutes if you want more life. Gorgeous restaurant which the hostess arrange for us with taxi to and from included just down the road and a little local Osteria 30 meters away for a truly local experience.

We only had one nights stay at the hotel as a stopover coming from france travelling down through Italy, however it was exactly what we expected and more. A really lovely location with a great aspect, Monte Bianco was viewable from our room balcony. it was very clean and the staff were helpful. the food was nice, however i would of liked to seen an itemised bill for our food, when we checked out. On retrospect i'm not sure if i was overcharged slightly for our dinner. If that was the case its partly my fault for not enquiring further. Having said this we would definitely return if we took this route again. Peaceful and enjoyable stay with clean nice rooms.

Loved the building we stayed in and the hosts were lovely and informative. The area is less touristy than Como and has a peaceful charm about the place. Some of the restaurants in Orta were less than charming but that can happen anywhere. Next time we would stay longer and explore the hiking potential.

We loved the place.

We loved the place. Taking boats to the village's and th island is a must. The restaurant on the island is wonderful with great food and if you sit by the window as we did a wonderful view. You also need to walk up the sacred mount to see all the chapels. The place is not a mass tourist place so visit now before others find it.

Very good welcome from the two brothers who run the Battle of Britain hotel. We had lunch and it was served in a large dining room overlooking lake Orta and the beautiful gardens downstairs. The view is stunning. Lunch was very pleasant. Good beef carpaccio served with plenty of parmigiano and small salads on side. I discovered a new Italian dessert called Bonet, a speciality from Turin.
