Salso is a small town, nearest notable towns are Parma and Modena. The surrounding countryside is pretty awesome with castles and cheese/ham factories The town was renowned for it thermal spa baths. Now in 2024 unfortunately the town seems to be a dormitory town, with slightly passe hotels and possibly no spas. The main spa is about to have a major major overhaul and refurbishment, to be completed within the next few years. Work has already started. However, there a some nice shops and cafes, and very good restaurants. The weather was not kind to us and it was damp and cool (April would normally be warm).Guest review byBishop - 10

I can honestly say that there was nothing we didn't like about Agriturismo Arte Contadina. We needed a place to stay overnight on the way further south, and it was so beautiful and welcoming that I would have liked to stay longer. Francesca is warm and friendly, the rooms are spotless and nicely designed, the grounds are postcard perfect. I can't say enough about it. We had a wonderful experience and the room had everything we needed.Guest review byToniUnited States - 8.0

The place is beautiful and well kept. Rooms great! Breakfast was phenomenal and the settings for both breakfast and dinner were amazing. The dinner wasn't anything special but the ambience makes up for the average food.Guest review byAnnetteItaly - 10

It´s a historical place and the transformation of the Hotel from an old Church/Abbey is wonderful done and to recommend. We passed this place on a round travel and could also join an exhibition in the evening. The hotel offers also some exponats of artists i.e. robots made of trash from an Italian Artist. Very eye catching. We arrived in the evening and was wondering where to eat. We walked the main street just a few minutes and found a local pizzeria - it seems it was the most popular take-away pizzeria but also with a small eating place inside. Again: Chapeau on the works done of this very old historical building and the successful transformation towards a modern style hotel.Guest review byVincentLuxembourg - 6.0
Really enjoyed, beautiful. Very walkable.
Really enjoyed, beautiful. Very walkable. No police presence. Did not enjoy groups of 25-40 young men running around fighting. Everyone ran from the mercardo in fear when they started fighting with mask and wine bottles.Guest review byDcinnvUnited States - 10

I'm not really qualified to answer as I have only made two one-night stays over the past eight years. But what I saw in daylight this Sunday and the information provided by the hotel concerning the thermal spas, have convinced me to return,Guest review byRogerItaly - 6.0

Tabiano is a very small, quiet town that is ideal to all those people and travellers who seek for relaxation and peacefullness. Tabioano is embellished by the homonymous castle, which is a private house today, and can be visited only accompanied by a tour guide. Its ufficial website (www.castelloditabiano.com) states that "a tour of the castle lasts about 45 minutes and crosses the most fascinating places of the manor: the ancient vaulted cellars, the wonderful halls decorated with stucco and frescoes, the grand staircase, the panoramic terraces". Entry fees: Adults: € 10,00 Children 8-12 years, Passport Castles of the Duchy and Parma Card: € 9,00 The entrance ticket also includes the guided tour. In the small town of Tabiano there are not many options where to go to eat lunch or dinner; for more options check the nearby towns of Salsomaggiore Terme and Fidenza.Guest review byGianlucaItaly - 10

Leafy streets, many parks, easy to find your way around the old town; interesting buildings and good cafés. Sad to see so many grand buildings not in use, and the renowned Thermae was closed for renovations. The exhibition of Gabriel Chini was wonderful.Guest review byMunroItaly
