- From US$104.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 447 reviewsWe went to Diamante for the Pepperoncini Festival(well worth the visit just for that) and just needed a place to stay. Hotel Ferretti was a pleasant surprise that exceeded our expectations considerably. The hotel and rooms were immaculate, we had rooms with large balconies overlooking the ocean, and it was a 10 minute walk to the center of town. The hotel caters mostly to European travelers and we were the only Americans but every staff member was very gracious and helpful even with a bit of a language challenge. The hotel has a private beach which included complimentary umbrella and beach chairs and a bar/restaurant is on the beach, as well. There are also other incredible beaches nearby and would recommend having a car if possible.Guest review byRichardUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 203 reviewsDiamante was my favorite place in all of Italy — it’s incredibly beautiful, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it before. We were originally supposed to stay at Hotel Poseidon, but since it was closed for renovations, someone from Hotel Ferretti kindly came to pick us up and took us there instead. And honestly… it was perfect. Hotel Ferretti is so beautiful — the décor is elegant and full of character, the staff were kind, attentive, and always helpful, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. This was my favorite place to stay during the whole trip, and Diamante now holds a very special place in my heart. I truly hope to come back one day.Guest review byÉricaBrazil

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 10 reviewsThe location near the beach and within walking distance to the old town is great. The terrace overlooking the sea is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a really great local restaurant, Pizzeria la Playa, nearby where we enjoyed a delicious meal served by attentive waiters. This is a place to revisit.Guest review byChakirSpain

Beautifully furnished room with a renovated bathroom. The swimming pool is huge and has nice views. The staff was attentive. The private beach area is great and has a bar.Guest review byDenizNetherlands

Plus, breakfast was one of the best we had during our Italy trip! And of course, the staff was always very attentive. (Just one example: we immediately got a nicer room because of the not-so-nice smell.)Guest review byArneGermany

Having only just sold my apartment in Scalea after 20 wonderful years, I cannot praise Scalea enough. Unfortunately Old Father Time is catching up with me and caused the sale. Scalea is a great town in Calabria with the sea, mountains , shopping centre , several supermarkets, and loads of good restaurants in Scalea itself and the surrounding area. I have found the locals friendly and helpful.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Diamante is a beautiful little town that offers everything needed for a perfect stay. Walk along the paved sidewalks with amazing views of the sea. Stop in for a caffe or gellato. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Murals on almost every building makes this town unique and beautiful. Emerged with the locals gives you a feeling of home. Very walkable town, just park the car and go. Diamante is a slice of paradise tucked away.Guest review byJudy M.United States - 10.0
Morano Calabro is a gorgeous old town. Very pittoresque.
Morano Calabro is a gorgeous old town. Very pittoresque. The pretty pictures found on the internet cannot capture the real beauty of this place and its authentic and relaxed atmosphere. The people are also very friendly. Unless you like touristy places, this unspoiled place represents Italy at its best. The area is very mountainous and a hiker's paradise. Restaurants serve excellent food and at a very low price.Guest review byHannoUnited States - 10.0
A beautiful place nestled among the mountains.
A beautiful place nestled among the mountains. We went on a breathtaking 15km hike and white water rafting in the Pollino National Park. We would recommend both. There are way more options for food than we expected, however there are not many English speaking people/staff around but we managed! The weather was much cooler there than other places in Southern Italy in Summer, particularly in the National Park.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The diffuso concept is atypical so be ready for the room, breakfast, check-in, gym to all be in different places in the city. Each of these areas we used was wonderful, But our room was a bit of a walk from the check-in area. It happened to be that the walk was worth the location of our room. The room was large and clean and we had full control of heat and air. Everything very, very comfortable and clean and new.Guest review byTimothyUnited States - 10.0

A last minute decision to stop a night here had us not wanting to leave, mainly because of the beautiful accommodation, food and people. We made the most of our short time here and walked down to the historic bridge ( devils bridge) amazing scenery and it was very peacful only us on the road and tracks. The town had a selection of restaurtants and we found a lovely spot to enjoy a beautiful meal and a fabulous bottle of wine. We wished we had more time to stay in Civiita however we had connections to make so moved on. I highly recommend visiting and staying at least 2 or 3 days and if you have a car exploring the area.Guest review byAnnieNew Zealand - 4.0
Rotonda would have been a far better base for hiking.
Rotonda would have been a far better base for hiking. We wanted to be in nature in an antico borgo but nothing in Viggianello seemed to be open other than 1 x tiny bar, the pharmacy and 1 x local shop. Rotonda is very attractive indeed and extremely friendly - we spent all of our non-hiking time in this locale. There are even 2 x museums.Guest review byDanielleUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Scale is very nice small town 2 hours from Naples.
Scale is very nice small town 2 hours from Naples. Recommend visiting up to July and from September. In August a lot of Italians come there to spend their holiday and town of 10 000 becomes a town of 150 000. Great beaches, a lot of sightseeing and nearby location to visit. Very friendly people. 178 km by car from Naples. Trains however go almost every hour. If you fancy an original Sicilian food from fresh seafood and do not mind paying a little bit extra go to Ristorante Insieme.Guest review by2GtravellersCzech Republic - 10.0

We strongly recommend Morano Calabro to any travelers who enjoy the ambiance of old village communities. The old Town in Morano Calabro is alive with friendly residents, little shops, local butcher, hair salons etc. We fell in love with the place. You can take the narrow twisty road to the Castello on the top of the hill but we enjoyed the walk. Enjoyed a 5 star lunch at restaurant L'Antico Borgo.Guest review byDerrickSouth Africa - 10.0

Castrovillari is central to exploring the Parco Nationale di Pollino, and is also close enough to make side trips down into the "toe of the boot" and see places like Tropea, Reggio Calabria, Cosenza, and Crotone.Guest review byPaulUnited States
