Turin is a city that has everything we need: history, food, tours, more polite people than other cities, very cheap prices, easy train, bus, this was the best place I stayed, I was in all of Italy, and the easiest to get around, without bureaucracy, and cheaper prices than others.Guest review byJairoUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Moncalieri is 15-20 minutes by train to Torino so a bit more reasonable than in the city. It is a small borgo and is very quiet in August when most Italians are on holidays. We used it as a base for doing day trips and visiting the sights in Torino. It has a beautiful couple of churches and a nice piazza with several good restaurants. It is also a good base for day trips to wine country and the mountains. We didn't have a car so used the train to get out of town and walked everywhere else. You can walk (a long walk) from Moncalieri to Torino through Parco Valentino. It is a lovely forested walk along the river Po into the city. Torino is a beautiful and vibrant city.Guest review byLaurieCanada - 8.0
Rivoli is a beautiful small town within easy reach of Turin.
Rivoli is a beautiful small town within easy reach of Turin. My friends say it is cooler in summer and visibly above the city smog in the winter. It has easy access to both Turin airport (40 mins) and Milan Malpenso (1.5 hours).. The mountains are close and beautiful as are significant historical town such as Venere. Turin itself a splendid city, with fantastic shops and the best hot chocolate ever! Parking is easy as it is under the squares and streets which are largely given over to pedestrians and service vehicles. The Egyptian Museum is one of the best outside Egypt and beautifully arrranged - the huge Museum of Cinema is by contrast extraordinary is a crazy sort of way - but has a fantastic collection of early cinematography.Guest review byRichardTwinchUnited Kingdom - 4.0

They assigned us room 308, defective air conditioning, no wifi signal, defective TV, defective sockets, a shame! In the middle of the night and after complaining at the reception, they gave us a room at a standard closer to what we knew about this hotel that we have been visiting for over 10 years. Although we were entitled to be compensated, those in management do not know this elegant and justified way to try to save a situation that should not have happened.Guest review byIP DospinescuRomania - 10.0

A historic village on a high hillside over looking the surrounding areas. Easy access to pine forests and activities nearby as well as 15 minutes from Turin. Local Italian life away from tourism with plenty of shops and restaurants. I liked the semi rural location and its gentle and quiet pace of life. Restuarants in nearby Chieri are plentiful and there are delicatessen to pick up local produce. At time of visit there were local harvest of grapes and peaches which werr delicious.Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Turin is not as touristy as other Italian cities I’ve visited and that made it really great. It has the lovely plazas and churches and also has this amazing view of the Alps. We visited the duomo, climbed the tower, shopped at the Saturday market, went to the Egyptian museum and walked along the Po River. We also made a half day trip to Reggia di Venaria which is gorgeous. We got around easily on buses or by foot. The city is not huge and the side trips are all well connected by public transport. I could have stayed longer and explored each square more and taken more day trips to nearby sites like the Superga, the Fenis, and even Mont Blanc! The cuisine here is heavy and not for everyone but we enjoyed trying new things (veal with tuna, savory flan, etc) and of course you have to get Barrolos and Barbereacas everywhere but also martinis and other vermouth cocktails.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

It’s a very quiet town definitely not much at all to do there. Unless you like going to the local bar or local restaurants, people are very friendly in there, need to travel into the capital to have a better experience. In the capital other than window-shopping, parks and plazas , there was not many places that were free. I would like to think that Torino is definitely a very bustling capital in the summer and probably best visited then. lots of museums and such like are there as well, but entry is quite expensive for the normal holiday maker.Guest review byUmeshUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Pleasant city to walk around.
Pleasant city to walk around. Elegant architecture and good shops if you like that; Egyptian Museum certainly large scale; Lingotto district (old Fiat factory) interesting and quieter. We only had two days as we were on route to somewhere else. Probably could have enjoyed a couple of more days.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom
