Tyrolese Magic among the Italian Alps
Part of the Alpine regions of northern Italy, this small province mixes great ski slopes, rich traditions from Austrian, Italian and Ladin cultures, stunning landscapes, and great food and wines. Seasons make no difference here, as the enchantment of South Tyrol has always something magic to offer.
With strong cultural and historical bonds with the Austrian Tyrol, this tiny region has a population with a German-speaking majority. The charming towns spread through its undulating geography mix the Tyrolese and Italian influence.
In the picturesque capital Bolzano, the Walther Square with the Cathedral of The Assumption of Our Lady and the trendy shops along Via dei Portici are a must to visit. Known also as Bozen, it is famous for the Christmas Market, where most of the hotels in South Tyrol get sold out quickly.
Merano is the 2nd city in the region and is famous for its spa facilities. And of course, also some the best luxury hotels in South Tyrol are located here. - Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 181 reviewsThe hotel exceeded our expectations in every way! The location is stunning, with breathtaking views and beautifully maintained surroundings. The outdoor terrace and relaxation areas around the property are perfect for unwinding and enjoying the scenery. The SPA is excellent, featuring an indoor hot tub, two saunas, and peaceful relaxation areas, plus an outdoor swimming pool. What truly stood out, however, were the staff and the food. We chose the half-board option and were grateful for it every evening—the breakfasts were fabulous with high-quality ingredients, and the dinners were absolutely superb. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, creating a warm atmosphere throughout our stay. A lovely bonus is the complimentary organized hiking groups—we joined one and had a wonderful experience. Overall, a fantastic stay we’d happily recommend!Guest review byVeselinBulgaria
- From US$389.69 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 925 reviewsThe hotel is located near the city center of Meran, everything is easily accessible from here. We arrived with a large car (Toyota Sienna), it was a bit difficult to find a place in the underground garage, but we managed. From the hotel, you can cross a closed corridor (free of charge) to the city spa center, but the hotel's own wellness area is also wonderful. We really enjoyed the rooftop outdoor pool. The service is first-rate, we recommend the half board to everyone. The staff is kind and helpful.Guest review byZoltanHungary
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 733 reviewsThe view over Merano is breathtaking. We loved sitting on our balcony and taking it in. We loved the walk down and back to Merano, keeps you fit, and that you could access the scenic paths directly from the hotel. It was also great to have parking. The room was lovely and clean and the breakfast was great with lots of home cured meats and cheeses. The staff were very friendly.Guest review byMaggiUnited Kingdom

Would like to go back prepared to do the walks and hikes in the area. The old city and market were charming. Loved the Archeology museum and learning about Otzi the Iceman. Cable car and train a great introduction to the possibilities available for future visits.Guest review byKellyCanada - 10.0

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine. Of course, there are the local & famous walkways, the mountain hikes, bike trails, and the Dolomites are nearby. On rainy days, there are castles, the Terme spa/pools. Overall, it's a very nice town with a lot to do.Guest review byLisaUnited States - 8.0
This is further to my previous review on Garni Rives.
This is further to my previous review on Garni Rives. I gave the hotel a review that reflects my honest opinion, mainly about the manager/host of the hotel. Obviously my review was not received with warmth from the hotel manager. He messaged me immediately via Whatsapp and blamed me being not polite to him, I have no idea where does this come from. I believe he has broken the golden rule of being in me the hospitality industry, if he cannot accept honest reviews, how can he improve to thrive on? The hotel itself is OK and the only problem I have is the steep climb (not the hotel's fault) and mainly the manager's manner.Guest review byAnthonyAustralia - 10.0

The town had everything we wanted in terms of services and places to visit were all in close proximity of one another. We ate at the hotel on the main street as well as a pizzeria a few doors down from our place. The pizza was the best there. We enjoyed the hikes and mountain biking and shopping in town.Guest review byErmelindaCanada - 10.0

Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination. Many slopes of varying difficulty. Something for everyone. All are very well groomed every single night. Lifts are refreshed / replaced by newer at extreme rates. Parking at the bottom station of the gondola is the best that you will ever experience and the price is quite affordable.Guest review byJurajCroatia - 10.0
