Our two young children had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful grounds and spent countless hours swimming in the pool, which we also thoroughly enjoyed. The atmosphere was inviting, and it felt like a home away from home. The staff at Paper Moon were truly wonderful—warm, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Every morning, we were greeted with smiles and treated to a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast that set the tone for a great day ahead. While this isn’t a luxury escape, the facilities were clean and tidy, with excellent air conditioning that was a lifesaver on hot days. We appreciated the lovely open social areas, allowing us to spend quality time together as a family without disturbing other guests. We relied on the WiFi throughout our stay and were impressed by how fast and consistent it was from all areas of the property. Hassan was a fantastic host and was able to help with travel arrangements and plans. My room was comfortable and had a view of the beach from my balcony (the beach was about 15m away as the hotel is right on the beach). It's located far enough away from the point and busy end of town that it's nice and quiet at night but only about 15 minutes walk down the beach or main road to all busier bars. I would happily come back and stay here again for an extended stay. You are more likely to meet a European than a local here. This is definately not a reflection on Sri Lankan culture, however the beach town is slow and quiet (realtively speaking) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants.
