Genting Highlands is truly one of the best highland...

Genting Highlands is truly one of the best highland destinations in Malaysia. Located just about an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, it’s the perfect escape from the city’s heat and hustle. The cool mountain breeze, scenic drive, and misty surroundings make the journey itself memorable. There’s so much to enjoy here—whether it’s the famous Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park with thrilling rides, the buzzing SkyAvenue Mall filled with shops and restaurants, or the lively casinos and entertainment shows. For nature lovers, the surrounding highlands and cable car rides offer stunning panoramic views. Accommodation is also a highlight, ranging from budget hotels to luxury suites with breathtaking views of the mountains and theme park. The facilities are excellent, the atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxing, and there’s always something for everyone—families, couples, or groups of friends. Overall, Genting Highlands is more than just a holiday spot—it’s a complete experience of fun, relaxation, and fresh mountain air. Definitely a must-visit in Malaysia!

This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed with my family, and I would strongly advise others to avoid it, especially if you are traveling with children. First, the cleanliness was completely unacceptable. When we arrived, the bed sheets were clearly not changed. There was visible hair on the pillows and bedding, which immediately raised concerns about hygiene. For a family stay, this is simply not acceptable and made us very uncomfortable from the start. Second, we were charged extra for access to the kitchen, which in itself was disappointing. What made it worse is that the kitchen was practically unusable. There was no stove, no oven, and no proper cooking facilities at all. Charging additional fees for a “kitchen” that cannot actually be used for cooking feels misleading and unfair. Overall, the place does not match even basic standards for family accommodation. Poor cleanliness, hidden or unjustified extra charges, and misleading facilities made this a very frustrating experience. I regret choosing this place and would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Everything is over priced. Souveniers, food, water etc.

Everything is over priced. Souveniers, food, water etc. We are locals. The food in Cameron Highlands is more expensive than in the centre of KL. The entrance to the farms and some other venues are just too pricey. A family of 4 will end up paying RM100 to one spot. What about the other destinations? How can we promote local tourism when everything is priced for international tourists? The traffic jam to the farms up on the brinchang slope was the worst. Stuck for one hour and the cars on the other side even worse. Looked like 2 hours to me. No traffic control. I will not go to Cameron Highlands until that unnecessary traffic jam is not sorted.

Nicest town in the Cameron Highlands to stay in.

Nicest town in the Cameron Highlands to stay in. Jasmine Cafe and Travellers Bar to be recommended for food, plus breakfasts at Amsterdam cafe. Good walk between town and the temple at Brinchang. Recommend half day trip to Mossy Forest and BOH tea plantation. Would not recommend any of the trails - too steep / dangerous/ not maintained

The hot spring pool is good and well maintained. The rooms are neat and clean except not enough chairs and lack a small table. Have to drive 12 km away for lunch and diner on a narrow and winding road.

Cherating is a nice place to stay due to its beach, scenery, food and resorts, hotels nearby. But during peak season, u need to plan much earlier to avoid staying in discomfort resorts or old resorts or old hotel. You can find a good resort with nice environment and scenery if u have ample time to make a research or survey and surprisingly there are upcoming resorts which i am looking to stay but its fully occupied.

The Colmar village hotel is truly a marvel.

The Colmar village hotel is truly a marvel. Its French-inspired architecture, complete with a small interesting bazaar, cobblestone pavements, picturesque bridges, and majestic minarets, transports you to a historic French village. The castle-like façade is breathtaking. The weather is delightful, and the location is extremely scenic and picturesque. However, the facility's services and accommodations fall short of expectations, which is a shame given the incredible potential of this stunning location. With some improvement, this hotel could truly live up to its enchanting atmosphere, making guests feel like they are experiencing the authentic charm of rural France in Malaysia truly Asia 🥰. One thing it’s not a far off hill station from KL. It’s about one hour drive from KL. There is always a room for improvement . Focus to enhance its warmth to attract visitors attention worldwide.
