- From US$108.99 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 545 reviewsNice friendly welcome. The cabin was bigger than we expected. Everything you need is there including fresh sheets and duvet covers/pillow cases and towels. It's the first cabin we've had on our roadtrip that has included all of these. The cabin is fitted out in 70's style and I loved that. It's totally different! The bathroom/shower is big. The cabin is nice and comfy with a lovely view of the mountains and the river is steps away. We stayed in cabin 17 and it was pet friendly. The breakfast was your typical breakfast with eggs, bacon, cereals, toast etc etc so help yourself. We would definitely stay here again.Guest review bySharonUnited Kingdom
- From US$94.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 476 reviewsSecond time I stayed at Vekve Hyttetun. Once again it was an excellent base to explore Dovrefell national park. Oppdal is only 25mins away from Kongsvol train station where you can hike to the DNT hut Reinheim or search around for Musk Ox to photograph. Friendly owner and the cabins are super comfortable and warm.Guest review byDimitriUnited Kingdom

I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold.
I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold. I was on my way to Trondheim doing the pilgrimage of St. Olav's Way. Oppdal is this small town that has a lot of charm. I was able to walk around town for a little bit. There are sidewalks throughout town that allow you to get all over the place. Transportation - There is a train that can take you north to Trondheim. There's also a bus if you need to go to Berkåk. This makes it easy to get around. There's even a taxi service by the name of Trønder Taxi AS that you can use to get around. Warning - taxis are pretty pricey in Norway and I would recommend using public transportation if you can. Download Vy app to check times and buy any tickets you may need. I ended up eating at Burger King in Oppdal(I know, very American of me). I wanted to have something quick to eat. I will say this, fast food chains are more expensive than local restaurants.Guest review by#soarindisneyUnited States - 10
Dombas is an excellent stopover coming back from the fjords...
Dombas is an excellent stopover coming back from the fjords to Oslo. I stayed at the campsite located on top of the village which offers nice cottages and views of the surrounding mountains. The area offers plenty of hiking trails and 5-6 hours moose and muskOx safaris not far from Dombas starting at 10am. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do the safari since I stayed just for the night and left in the morning. All amenities are located in one spot at the Dombas Senter which includes petrol & many fast charging stations, cafeterias, a couple of restaurants, supermarkets and a huge souvenir shop all at reasonable prices. We ate at Moskusgrillen located on the opposite side. The restaurant offers some traditional food, meats, juicy burgers and large pizzas. We tried the deer burger, ribs and pizza and were all very good. I will definitely go back.Guest review byCass - 2.0
Here are the bad ones for HYTTE 5:
Here are the bad ones for HYTTE 5: - Entire place was dusty, genuinely dusty. (The rest of the day I had a blocked nose) - All pots, pans, plates, cups and cutlery was smudgy and greasy. - Furnace was greasy. - Shower-head was just utterly disgusting. (see picture) - Shower it self had mouldy places on the bottom of the wall and the shower curtain. (see picture) - One of the mattresses had a pee-stain. (see picture) - One of the beds looked already slept-in, the duvet was folded open in a way that would suggest this. (Obviously couldn't verify this.) - Pillows and duvets had brown stains on them. (see picture) - Windows had smudges all over them. - Cupboard doors were slanting. (see picture) - Dishcloth was gross. (see picture) To sum this all up: First and second impression tells us the place is badly maintained.Guest review byNickNetherlands - 10
