United KingdomBeautiful location, skibus stops right outside twice a day (once there, once back), river nearby very pretty, staff wonderful. e were in one of the apartments which was a good size for the number of people. Cabins so pretty, and not on top of each other, but still a compact site - just right. A winter wonderland I will never forget. Perfect for children couples - peaceful setting and atmosphere. Note there is a large storage room under the ski rental centre at Vestlia where you can leave equipment which is really helpful.

The house we rented was perfect, warm, fully equipped and close to the ski in/out.
The people working at reception were incredibly nice with us, and helped us on every doubt or problem we had. It was awesome.
The kitchen had spices, salt and pepper. Something that is really appreciated and in most places is missing.

Everything was perfect: the sauna, the facilities and the location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The communication was quick. The washing machine can be rented separately per need.

Geilo is a ski town.
Geilo is a ski town. Skiing in Norway is more affordable than the United States and less crowded. Unlike many ski towns that I have been in, Geilo was pretty dead once the slopes were closed. There is no public transit within the city limits. Taxis are infrequent and expensive. If you stay for a few days, a car is recommended. We took the bus from Oslo to Geilo and the train from Geilo to Bergen.
It is spectacularly beautiful and the young people working at the ski resorts were very cool. There is a nice international vibe.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment last weekend.
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment last weekend. The owner lady was incredibly kind and responsible, making sure everything was perfect for our arrival. Parking was hassle-free, which was a great relief.
The apartment itself was exactly as described: clean, beautifully designed, and very quiet. It provided a peaceful retreat after our long trip and busy days of skiing. The sauna was a fantastic addition, offering much-needed relaxation and warmth.
Overall, we highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a comfortable and serene place to stay. We will definitely consider returning in the future!

The downhill skiing is great for a party of mixed ability - you were never too far apart to meet up again. Nice variety of runs in Geiloheisen side. Less variety of runs in Geilolia but every run a great one. Being able to also set off on lots of varied XC ski trails is also a good selling point. There are a couple of good sized supermarkets in the town.
