- From US$187.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 1,436 reviewsCozy and pleasant room with sea view. Very friendly staff. A micro-shop right at the reception desk, so you can buy water, ice cream, cup noodles or coffee right there. An eclectic interior that mixes both modern clean Scandinavian look and old wooden elements. Top-notch breakfast, big choice of dishes for everyone, including lactose and gluten free options. And a pretty decent coffee that you can take away, this is good especially on sunny days, because the breakfast cafe has a big outside are with sea view. It is located basically at the city center, so you can explore everything on foot. All fjord marine sightseeing activities are also located nearby.Guest review byDmitryEstonia
- From US$64.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 1,007 reviewsswift easy check-in, enjoyed my stay full of relaxation, even though it was so overcast the scenery was practically invisible and the insane levels of overtourism. It is not true that it's short walk access into town, from here to Alesundet at least, took me thirty minutes to go over the hilly, bendy road [borgundsvegen], not even with a bicycle will it be faster. I believed the misinformation in the review section, and almost planned a walk back to have a six o' clock meal. Also, if you are visiting the sunnmøre museum it will be just as far. Better views from there and 98% less tourists!!Guest review byDamianGreenland

The room is clean, cosy and has more than everything you need: hand and body lotion, teas. Great staff, we were able to leave our luggage for the day. Just in the city centre, next to the Hurtigruten/Havila wharf!Guest review byAlessandraItaly

- From US$53.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 631 reviewsVery spacious cabin, well equipped kitchenette. It was raining in the morning so sheep from nearby fields came to cabin to hide from rain under its roof. I was woken up by jingle of their bells.Guest review byGiedriusPLithuania

Nice location for all sorts of excursions; viewing the close city, going for hikes in the area, visiting the famous Geiranger - which one can do with a 4 h boat trip each way. We found Alesund more interesting than eg. Bergen (which has loads of tourists).Guest review byDieter R. KollerSwitzerland - 8.0
Very small and cozy place. The view is spectacular!
Very small and cozy place. The view is spectacular! You can feel peace around. Supermarket is quite far but if you have a car is no problem. Also if you need some shopping you can go to Moa which is 15 min by car. There's a ferry and a bus stop. Trails to the woods is quite nice, you can spend a very nice day there.Guest review byAntoninaUkraine - 2.0

When you are visiting Geiranger, you need to reach Stranda through a ferry and the times for the ferry are not good. They have a ferry once a hour in the evenings and you will end up wait for an hour sometimes when you miss the previous oneGuest review byKrishna C SistlaSweden - 10.0

A two night stay gave us one complete day in Alesund. Well worth walking up the 418 steps to the viewpoint. I would recommend Racoon bakery, delicious cinnamon bun and hot chocolate. Unfortunately the glass studio was temporarily closed.Guest review byJennyUnited Kingdom - 6.0

For us Stranda was a point of sleeping over, while doing tours in the area. There was 2 options of restaurants, so it was possible to get a dinner. Did not see much of Stranda in daytime - but they perhaps could have done some more of being the city of the Grandiosa Pizza and the well konwn Stranda Ham.Guest review bySteinarBjornbetNorway - 8.0
Ålesund, per se, is not a major attraction.
Ålesund, per se, is not a major attraction. However, this nice city is an excellent starting point to explore the surroundings spectacular fjords, drive the Atlantic road, and eventually go to other regions. That was what we did and it went extremely well. Weather seems to be colder and wetter here than upper north and on the south of the country, therefore the travelling period should be carefully chosen.Guest review byAna EstanqueiroPortugal
