The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. The restaurant (dinner) was really nice. The breakfast was simply fantastic! Also worth mentioning: the contact before the arrival was much appreciated, with the suggestion to reserve a table as the arrival turned out to be relatively late.

I don't expect that place will be so nice for stay, very clean and comfortable, very good place for sleep on the way. Motell is next to highway, but is very quiet you don't hear anything. Pictures are exactly the same like is in reality.

The hotel itself is a fascinating building- architecturally unique; it’s full of interesting artifacts and pictures which the very knowledgeable staff are only too happy to describe/explain. Dinner was wonderful - three courses was absolutely more than enough! Breakfast was equally good. We were only there for one night but wished we were there longer

    I had a very peaceful and comfortable stay at Bo Camping. I booked a cabin and got liberally an upgrade (bathroom inside the cabin) for free. The comfortable bed and functional equipment makes it easy to have a cosy stay. The check-in via deposited envelope worked perfectly fine and Arnhild (staff) was really nice and hospitable.     Tonsberg has a nice centre with many restaurants to chose from especially along the harbour (still busy at weekends in late August) and a pretty promenade along the fjord to Nordbyen. We managed to take the bus to Verdens Ende, and the beautiful car-free island of Veierland as well as the train to Oslo, during our 4 day stay, using the wonderful public transport system and VKT and VY apps

    I don't think we saw Larvik at its' best - on a cold, dark...

    I don't think we saw Larvik at its' best - on a cold, dark and windy December night - the restaurants mainly all shut around 9pm which left us with a slightly dodgy Chinese takeaway in which we found a hair, so not great. However, what we did see was quaint and pretty with a beautiful harbour.

    Location of the place was perfect for the purpose of the trip: visiting the Gsustatopp, great experience for all the family with the possibility to reach the top with Gaustabanen, the view from the top was just greit! The accommodation offered a very good breakfast as well! Really recommended.

    The area was very quiet and all the local people were very friendly and welcoming. All those I met spoke very good English. Norway is a very beautiful unspoilt country with some stunning scenery. I would enjoy spending more time there. Public transport is excellent with booking / payment made quick and easy via the use of an app (and very cheap compared to the UK!). I should imagine that during high season, it would be fairly crowded (I was there in early October) when it was very quiet but the weather was still pleasant and sunny. Overall, I would recommend this as a very pleasant location to spend a few days.

    Disappointing stay in Tønsberg – poor hospitality and zero accountability My experience in Tønsberg was ruined by an unacceptable apartment booking situation. The host canceled on arrival due to “double-booking,” gave no assistance, and the alternative accommodation was dirty and poorly managed. It’s shocking that in a busy summer town like Tønsberg, some hosts feel entitled to treat visitors this way – with no responsibility or professionalism. This left me with no trust in local hosts and no desire to return. Tønsberg may be charming, but this level of service is not.

    On a road trip through Norway, knowing what I know now, I would have stayed here longer. My ferry is on Wednesday, so I have a day and a half to get to Kristiansand. I would have preferred to stay here longer, lovely hotel, great staff and lovely facilities. Put this on your radar for a stop over.

    We came from Sweden for a extended weekend and wanted to get 2 full days of skiing, which we did! The ski slopes are a good mix of easy and gentle to a little more challenging, yet all fun and well maintained. All the operating staff were very helpful and pleasant. The resort is small in terms of amenities (only a few restaurants and bars - but all of good standard!) but more than enough for a cosy stay! It has a very relaxed atmosphere and very picturesque location. A lot of cross- country facilities and possibilities to explore the winter outdoors. Highly recommend for a families and individuals alike who come for the outdoors! The only downside is depending on where you are staying you may need a car to get around. There are few walkways unless you are on skies so for those that don't ski you have to stay close to the lodge or have a cosy cabin where you plan to spend a lot of time.
