The head chef Cesare and the bar manager Chandra were both so friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was really really something special! We will definitely be back for more.

United KingdomExceptional host and a very warm welcome. We had a cabin in the garden so self-contained. It was amazing, being clean and very comfortable. It was cold during our stay and the underfloor heating was great.
Excellent shower and facilities.
Just a very short walk to the centre and many eateries. In the other direction is the sculpture walk in the forest as well as other trails.
Very quiet and we had use of the garden for reading which was lovely. So glad we booked and would recommend.

Friendly staff, comfortable room w kitchenette. Spotlessly clean, even the grout in the shower, which is grubby in most other places. Walking distance to the hot pools, shops, and restaurants. Lots of lovely touches, like Band-aids, a hot water bottle, and an umbrella.

Went with my mum and son. Very clean, good working facilities, helpful staff, loved the stay. Can cook in cabin but bigger shared kitchen next door. Good big playground for my son. Close to bike trails which were fun

The welcome from Victoria was excellent and the information she supplied was very helpful, we stayed in the different pools a total of six hours until they closed at 7pm, The day was overcast with intervals of sunshine, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and some thing to wrap around you if wind is blowing, excellent place to visit for us oldies or if you have kids of all ages,

Really comfortable well appointed rooms. Great spot for a romantic weekend away. The hosts were great and knowledgeable about the area. The only problem we had was being able to hear the bar fridge at night as our room was closest to this area. Definitely ask for a room further away which we have had no problems with in the past. Great sitting in the spa pool at night watching the stars.

The main reason for visiting was the hot pools which did not disappoint. The Forrest also was a highlight with plenty of options for walks. We enjoyed the sculpture walk and even found a fairy house trail nearby. Plenty of places to eat.

Really easy to get around the town centre on foot, everything is close together.
Recommend stopping at some cellar doors in Waipara on the way through if you are coming from Christchurch.
We hiked, went quad biking with Hanmer Springs Attractions, visited the Hanmer Springs Pools, dined out and shopped at various locations.. We even hired a Rocket bike to do a lap of town and get our bearings.
We drove up the Hanmer Springs Ski Area but unfortunately, lack of snow and windy weather prevented us having a day of snow sports.
