The staff really make Casa Mario's a wonderful stay. They were all very polite and happy to help, with someone always available at reception. We had to cancel a couple of tours the staff had kindly arranged last minute due to travel delays arriving in Coron and due to illness. The staff were great, replying very quickly through the Booking.com chat and were on hand to answer questions and help us rearrange tours. The staff also helped us arrange shared transfer to Coron airport (250php per person) for our morning flight and arranged a scooter to be dropped off for us. Overall staff were very easy to communicate with and keen to make our stay comfortable. Our room was also spotless and the daily clean was great. Location is also really convenient, close to good eateries. The breakfast area on the terrace is modern and clean although there isn't much of a view. Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before through reception staff and was simple but good. Overall great value for money and would recommend to other travellers on a budget.

The room was as it looked in the photos, cozy and super clean. There was hot water and the water pressure of the shower was also good. The staff was super kind and they helped us renting scooters and arranging our transfers. The location is much better than Coron town, as it is in the middle of a small and authentic village (Salvación), much closer to the most beautiful beaches of the island, up north.

It was very clean, they cleaned every day common spaces and rooms. The staff is very nice, they helped us with everything we needed, they rented us a scooter and helped us find tours. Bed was comfortable. Well located, 5 minutes by motorbike or 10 min walking. Common area is very nice as well.

We were positively surprised, as the hotel was much better than it appeared in the pictures. The rooms are simple but have everything needed, and the cleanliness was outstanding, with daily housekeeping. The entire hotel area was well-maintained, showing great attention to detail. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless with good hot water. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. A great recommendation for those who want to stay outside the hustle of Coron Town while still having good connections.

We could only give 5 stars to every question. Such a nice and friendly team. They made our experience so special. We enjoyed the free boat trips to the centre of Coron, the beautiful swimming pool, our very nice room with balcony. It is such a beautiful place with the nice lights, plants, flowers, trees...they really take care and are doing everything to give you an extraordinary experience were you feel so spoiled. honestly, this was the best experience we have ever had with a hotel. we are full time travellers and seen and spoken to many hotels - but the staff at Corto del Mar went above and beyond our expectations. not only were they helpful, kind and friendly - but they also packed us breakfast, made sure we woke up for our ferry and gave professional and honest reviews of the possible tours. really the best customer service we have had.

The attention provided by the staff is flawless, and everything is very well organised. As I was badly sunburnt to my legs and could only walked painfully, the ladies at the reception sent someone to the drugstore for me. The restaurant is also very good, especially when the Filipino dishes are concerned.

The airport and almost all hotels are located on Busuanga (the neighbour island of Coron). There is hardly anything to see here. Neither nice beaches nor varied landscapes. You have to take boat trips to the neighbouring island of Coron or go diving. Both are great. Coron with its lakes, lagoons, caves and beaches is amazing. The underwater world is more varied than in El Nido, Moalboal or Boracay.

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit,...

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit, put this one on your list. It's relatively uncrowded, the people are very pleasant and the vistas are jaw dropping. If you are a diver, and have an interest in WWII, you will find an incredible 11 Japanese wrecks to dive. I'd recommend Pirate Divers, they are very professional and very conservative when it comes to evaluating risks. They also know the wrecks like their second home. Coron is a bustling town with good food and pleasant people, but the beauty of the island is the back country. I liked it enough in December that I'm returning in February. To get around, I'd suggest renting a scooter. If you are new to powered two wheel vehicles stay out of Coron, and pay attention to the roads, there are some surprisingly tight turns. Otherwise, since it is relatively uncrowded you should be fine.

The damage from the previous typoons is still present. There are numerous bars, I recommend the Pacifico Bar, they have Octoberfest sized mugs to hold the Red Horse Beer. It is 50 Pesos each way from the hotel to town and back. On the island tours, the outhouses are the absolute bare minimum, a toilet, no seat, no tank, no TP, a bucket and a ladle and no sink. Wear grippy water shoes, the stairs are slippery. Go see the Coral Garden, elsewhere all the other fish are <5" and no coral. Unless you go to the the Coral Garden, the crystal kayak is a waste of money. Still I had a great time, the staff did an amazing job, life is an adventure!

I dont know why everyone goes to crowded Coron island while huge wild beautiful Busuanga is near. Its very big island, better to rent a motorbike to discover it. A lot of things to do, islands, giraffes, diving, beaches.

The wow factor was definitely at Twin Lagoons and Kayangan...

The wow factor was definitely at Twin Lagoons and Kayangan Lake. Loved swimming and snorkelling although coming from Australia, the corals and fish were a bit underwhelming. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in Coron Town. We especially liked the french restaurant Armihan Bistro, Poco Deli (next door to Epic Cafe) and Le Voyage. All catered for Gluten Free meals as well. Tuk Tuks are plentiful and easy to catch. 50 pesos for 2 peoples to take you anywhere within the town boundaries. We also walked to the hilltop lookout Mt Tapayas .. but beware, there's 720 steps to climb to get to the top from the car park!!!

We liked Busuanga because it was relatively untouched by tourism. Where we stayed at Ocam Ocam there was a rural village community living along the beach. They were friendly and helpful and there was one restobar on the beach. The beach wasn't busy - had a very relaxed feel. It would have been a drive to the nearest town but we liked being away from it all. The beach at Ocam Ocam was gorgeous, though not for swimming as it had a long shallow reef out to the sea. We didn't see a lot of Busuanga as a whole but it felt equally relaxed and rural away from big towns.
