Helpful, warm, friendly, staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. Amazing breakfast: seven kinds of fruit, five different cheeses, four types of bread, great coffee, and fresh orange juice (they grow oranges on the property). We didn't use it, but there is an outdoor swimming pool on part of their beautiful grounds.

The Hotel was lovely and the views were beautiful. The Managers, Isabella and Lucus were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. We will definitely visit again. I suppose the only thing I would change is maybe to have tea/coffee facilities in the room, but I don't think that this is a thing in Europe so no problem with this.

    How can you describe a perfect place like *Quinta Das Levadas Dos Mouros Country House*?... - A real piece of paradise! This is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in, with the most charming landlady - Dear Raquel. A spectacular mansion in its beauty, elegant, warm and pampering, every item in it is tastefully chosen. The large space, the comfortable beds, the light and the harmony... As well as the small details that make all the difference (In each bedroom there is a deck of cards with Inspirational Phrases for example). The estate has a pool to enjoy on hot days and hiking trails around it that lead to wonderful nature. We accepted Raquel's offer and ordered dinner as well. The lovely Natalia prepared a meal for us that we enjoyed every bite of. Paired with good wine from the region - we had a perfect evening. In the morning, the hearty Ceilia prepared a particularly pampering breakfast for us, which started another perfect day for us. We plan to come back here for sure, this time for 3-4 nights. In our opinion, the place is worth a special trip to the area and certainly a great trip to the slate villages. Thank you so much, dear Raquel, for a delightful and extraordinary experience, the Aharoni family

    We had a beautiful large room with so much character. It was clean and well appointed. The little kitchen was nice to have for the few evenings we ate in. It was so nice to find a pet friendly place to stay, as I was traveling with my cat. The breakfast was great! There were a number of choices available. The host was amazing. She was so kind and caring. She always took the time to greet us and ask if we needed anything. She shared her knowledge on where to shop for items we were looking for. When my husband took ill, her concern was touching and sincere. We would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed a week and would go back in a heartbeat. It felt like home

    Excellent, well maintained hotel, perfectly positioned opposite the magical village of Piódão. Professional, courteous staff who went the extra mile to fulfil our varying dietary needs. The pool was clean and a great size and temperature for swimming laps. A huge thank you to Alexandra Vieira on reception who kindly arranged our onward transport as we did not have a car and it is impossible to use Bolt/Uber in this area as we discovered!

    I was here for work, but added a day to go hiking in the Gardunha mountains. Good hiking trails, with good signposts. The tourism office offers brochures in English. I like the scale of the city: small & calm, but with a good variety of shops, bars & restaurants.

    Lousã is a wonderful place for nature lovers. It has great trails for various the experienced as well as the less experienced hiker. Lots of streams and beautiful spots as well as breathtaking views to take in. The town itself is very quiet. It has no life but if its nature you’re looking for, it’s definitely the right place.

    Unhais da Serra is a very small town.

    Unhais da Serra is a very small town. It has one outstanding restaurant - As Thermas and another couple of ones that are good options as well. A couple of local shops that carry the delicious cheeses, charcuterie and liquors made in Serra da Estrela. We always stop to replenish or stock - we prefer the tiny mini-market, but the fancier shop has sweatshirts, slippers and interesting items as well. It's the perfect get-away for rest and relaxation. We park the car at the H2otel and do walking to everywhere we need to go over the weekend. I'd say a 3-4 night stay is ideal.

    The town has a history of an artist's retreat, with a museum and Malhoa, the most famous artist's, residence. It has historic medieval buildings in a cobblestreet old town center. There is a large Saturday market with a lot of variety. The hilly countryside is gorgeous and features Sao Simao River Beach for swimming and hiking. It is easy to spend a week or more in the area.

    I did not have a chance to see much in Castelo Branco thanks to the heatwave (above 40 degrees celcius), but from tourist guides and from what I heard it is worth visiting when the weather is a lot cooler in the future.

    Central to the Schist villages which are high up in the mountains so you can hike and visit the old villages. Would recommend a day in Coimbra too. The old town of Lousa is nice for a stroll around too.
