Excellent location situated in a beautiful park on the river bank, a few minutes from the old city. Staff very friendly The room is good equipped looking to the river, very clean, nice bathroom and toiletries, the pool is small but wonderful. The breakfast was very good, a lot of variety. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They did a very good thing in the renovation, it looks very good for an very old cloister. The best thing about the hotel is the spa. We booked a massage (very reasonable prices for a 5 Star hotel, not overpriced) and Vania just has magic fingers. The reception also told us that she won a price with her work, no surprise. If you ever stay here book a massage, i can really recommend.

I love the concept of a 5 star hotel integrated into the old Vista Alegre porcelain factory. And while still running, it was a very quiet location. Our bed was comfortable and our room had direct access to the outdoors, which was great for our elderly dog. The breakfast was varied, with options for my lactose free needs and the Bacalhao a Bras for dinner was amazing. Close to Aveiro and Costa Nova, both worth a visit.

    Super small and very nice campsite. we had a Canadian room with great beds. Towels were changed like every other day. Super nice people visit the campsite, we made lots of friends. Only downside; if you book a tent you don’t have any kitchen facilities like a fridge or a communal outdoor kitchen. But! The restaurant has everything you need. Breakfast was amazing, lots of healthy options. Staff was super friendly. Would definitely recommmend!

    Coimbra is a very nice town. And you can go by train to Aveiro, another pleasant city, about one hour from Coimbra. And with a taxi or uber you can reach Conimbriga, old roman ruins (the best in the Iberic Peninsula), very interesting place.

    The location was perfect for us. Breakfast was worth the price. Had a restaurant if you needed a hot meal on the premises. Close to an Aldi as well as a coin laundromat. We walked to all the places we visited like Aljustrel and places where the children of Fatima lived.

    Aveiro is a great place with plenty to see and do. Many lovely places to eat and drink. We stayed for 10 days but I think 7 would have been enough. Must not miss a visit to Costa Nova with the gorgeous coloured houses, also a boat ride is a must. There is a very nice in door shopping centre very close to Hotel Mercado.

    Nazare beach is beautiful but the town lacks amenities, there is nothing to do if you can't swim in the sea (we couldn't due to red flags). Twenty minutes by car is a beautiful town with amazing beach and calm waters called Praia de Sao Martinho, much better.

    The town is definitely geared up for tourists but it is certainly seasonal. Out of season there is not much to do there. There are a huge number of camper vans and RVs around the parking areas along the beach roads, because of the surfing. Restaurants and bars are in abundance near the harbour and most appear to be quite popular in their different price ranges.

    A wonderful town to visit! Lots of shops with unique gifts, beautiful church, a castle, incredible musicians making the most of the open space and acoustics. LOVED our visit! Restaurants did not disappoint and our stay at Patio House was outstanding! Our hosts were incredible and ensured our stay was memorable and special. We felt very welcomed! Highly recommend making this walled town a stop and linger for a while during any trip to Portugal! The cobblestones and hills are worth it! Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

    If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there inmediately. Lovely streets to wander around, parks and local shops and restaurants. Lovely architecture to admire and just love the ambience. The N2 national road passes through here and it's close to a great metal festival.

    We loved this city.

    We loved this city. It’s not tourist-packed town and it’s a perfect size, with lovely parks and nice shops and restaurants. People better are kind. That will help you with any language barriers if you’re patient. We enjoyed a nice ramen dinner nearby. Prices are reasonable in the city. The weather was beautiful and became cooler in the evenings.

    We spent one night here on our way from Lisbon to Porto. 1 night was the perfect amount of time to tour the Knights of Templar snd Christ Convent. I appreciated that the hotel was able to book a car service to take us to Porto the next day.
