The territory is lovely: two pools, bar, children playground, trampoline, hammock to chill. I also liked that they have children gymnastics in the morning! Very nice, definetly recommend!

The staff is really friendly and reachable via WhatsApp. Special mention to Antonio and his reception colleagues (forgot the name sorry!) for being extra cheerful and pleasant to speak to. NetherlandsNewish Hotel that is very well managed. Staff super helpful and professional. Sadly we did not use the evening restuarant as 19.30 opening was too late for us. The rooms with a 'side sea view' also view the construction across the road. Not too noisy or dusty. These rooms also mostly receive little direct sunlight if that is helpful to know.

SingaporeUtopia offers a brilliant breakfast. It is also the only GH that offered tea, sugar, etc in jars, rather than in single use packaging. The interior design is also centred on an upcycling concept around a coastal theme. the rooms are warm and spacious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is also a very good restaurant nearby.
Utopia is slightly away from the official Fishermen's Trail, but it is very easy to shortcut from the forest edge to the first roundabout and the GH.

Since it was out of season we were the only guests but they still treated us so well. It is such a peaceful and quiet area I am sure that even with other guests around it will still be a beautiful and peaceful area. Breakfast was fantastic great granola and yoghurt, great coffee, meats and cheeses, fruit and bread and croissants all that can be toasted or as is and chocolate cake to top it all off. There are 2 pools that even in Feb looked clean and very inviting. They upgraded us to an apartment room with separate living room and kitchen - lovely private terrace area with deck chairs. Public areas absolutely beautiful like sitting in your own home, gorgeous fireplace that we didnt light as it was only us but it felt like sitting in your own lounge room. Highly recommend this place it was just wonderful.

We loved everything about our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable - both my sister and I had the best night sleep we've had in ages. The room was clean and quiet, with blackout curtains for sleeping and good wifi ... it had everything we could need or want. The robes and complimentary port were very nice touches. The breakfast was delicious and satisfying for both of us (one of us is a vegetarian, the other is not). The property itself is gorgeous. It happened to be a little too cold out to use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, and recommended some beautiful beaches and delicious restaurants for us to check out. Next time I'm back in this area I will definitely stay here again, and will recommend it to all my friends.

Amazing quiet stay at a beautiful property. The staff were so kind and we were in love with Nina the resident cat. Super sweet kitty, we miss her already. The breakfast was very nice, all sorts of items so something for everyone. Dina was very lovely too, but all staff made us feel very welcome.
Coffee machine, microwave and water boiler in our house was great. And the spa bath was also amazing in November/ December to stay warm.

Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town .
Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town . We came for a night and stayed for a fortnight. The supermarkets amd cafés are plentiful. There are many beautiful beaches and interesting things to see. The local bus takes you to pretty towns and villages nearby. Its a lovely place to have a holiday.

Sagres is beautiful.
Sagres is beautiful. Perfect for people who are not afraid of wind or cold water. Because of that you find yourself in places with not too many people and always have more than enough space in the beach. Some beaches are full of trailervans but people are nice and chill.

The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town...
The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town enhances the dreamlike feeling of this very old town. Just wandering the streets is enough, but then there is terrific hiking. Ideal for those who like heritage and outdoor adventure in the "real" Portugal outside of the large City. And then there are the people, who could not do enough to help.

Lovely hostess, fabulous location high up so we enjoyed the sunset. Apartment was very clean & well equipped, large, comfortable bed. Wifi very strong. Nice luxury whilst walking 12 days of the Fisherman's trail. Beware the Mercado in the town was closed at 3.30 so we purchased sardines, cheese & wine fir our dinner at the apartment as it us 2.5km out of town

A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic.
A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic. A great place for a short visit if you like to avoid the crowds or to look for accomodation if you plan to explore the gorgeous 'vicentina' coast, with car access to many great beaches. Most of these beaches are likely to be too 'wild' for most people, with difficult access, but they are perfect for the more adventurers and, again, for those who prefer to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are a few places in the village centre where you can enjoy a really tasteful light meal, of which I'd definitely reccommend the restaurants 'Ao Largo' and 'Casa Verde'.

A shuttle to take you to beach and shops is very useful as parking in town area limited (and we were outside season )
All in all a great stay

I walked from Pedralva to Vila do Bispo -- about 8 miles.
I walked from Pedralva to Vila do Bispo -- about 8 miles. A nice in-land walk with a few steep hills, and no provisions (stores, cafe's, etc.,) along the way. Vila do Bispo is a nice little town with a number of very good restaurants, and even an Aldi's. There is a very good Vamus bus connection to Lagos which I used.

Almograve is a beautiful town close to an amazing beach. The town itself was smaller than the surrounding towns with less amenities , like restaurants to choose from, but we were only there for one night so it was fine. We walked down the road to the beach to enjoy an amazing sunset. The weather was beautiful while we were there. ,

We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't...
We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't spend any time in the town of Carrapateira itself. But the next morning, we really enjoyed the various hiking trails and scenic overview spots accessible from Carrapateira via the perimeter road (E. da Praia), which starts with great views of and trails to Praia da Bordeira and then winds along the coast's edge for about 10 km. Great views and trails.
