We loved this place. Lots of thoughtful touches. Warm and comfortable and a perfect base for exploring the volcano. The host was welcoming and had useful information about hikes.

We stayed at Hotel L'Ecrin for one night while hiking the GR R2 trail on Réunion Island. I highly recommend it to all hikers, as it's located very close to the trail. The hotel is pleasant, clean, with comfortable beds and a beautiful garden. The receptionist was friendly and spoke English, which was a great help. There’s also a restaurant right next door where we had an excellent dinner.

Wonderful bungalow, fully equipped. Good Wi-Fi. We arrived late host left us bakery and other stuff for sandwiches. There was no problem with late arrival and early check out.

Perfectly located for a hike to Fournaise. We were welcomed by the owner very friendly and she showed us all facilities. Everything was clean and comfortable. Also the nice fireplace in the guest room was absolutely wonderful.
Next morning we went for the hike at 2:30 am and believe it or not.... Breakfast was prepared!
If we could give higher rating than 10, we would definitely do it!
