First night I spent in the one top room with a balcony and view to the Danube. Later that room was occupied and I changed to another house, which meant walking via garden to breakfast room. That room was a bit cheaper, but not the same view and direct access to breakfast place anymore. But still all in all very good. Best value is receptionist going really out of her way to get some information in town needed as well as trying to find the best way to travel further to Moldova. That was of big help.

The location is wonderful right on the banks of the river Danube in Galati. We stayed in the same room as last time (August 2022). Maybe they listed to my review but they have actually redone the bathroom. Last year it was clinical, this time we found it to be enjoyable, they have done the walls and replaced the lino with an acrylic finish which is very smart looking. Continental breakfast is wonderful, they have a lot of produce that are locally grown. Definitely recommend the place.

The atmosphere was pleasant, with welcoming staff. In the courtyard shared with the hotel there is a pizzeria that also serves burgers (they were brilliant). Quiet area, very warm room, in our room there is also an electric heater, probably for times when there are problems with the heating system, which I found very nice to have, but we did not need to use it. Considering that I had the train back at a time when I couldn't serve breakfast, I was asked if they could still prepare my breakfast to take away to serve later on the train. I wasn't expecting this, I was very excited by the idea and thank you for this, it was really delicious.

Galati was special, two days was a bit short.

Galati was special, two days was a bit short. - We took an early morning ferry over the Danube and back as foot passengers before breakfast. Fabulous sunrise, nice adventure. - Evening walk along the Faleza with beautiful impressing sculptures from the seventies. - Recommend restaurant Blue Acqua, good athmosphere and delicious fish dishes. Vegetarian options too. 20 minutes walk from the hotel along the Faleza. - We went sightseeing some fascinating abandoned steel industry areas.

The kitchen and bathroom were very dirty and very old.

The kitchen and bathroom were very dirty and very old. No restoration were made for ancient times. Especially the pots and pans and forks and knives were dirty. The toilet brush made me sick instantly (no exaggerating!). The sleeping room includes the refrigerator and the electrical heating system which both turn on and off every few minutes and are very loud. This was very uncomfortable and I couldn't t sleep at night. The location was central, which was good. Close to shops and coffees.

Beautiful city which maybe stayed a bit behind in current Romanian blooming. If you have interest for mid 19th architecture, you will have a nice trip. Eminescu parc is beautiful. People are nice and fervent there. A lot of foreign words, French, English, Italian can be seen on the boutiques. This city has a soul, but also something depressive. It's a nice dual character. The graveyards are as well of some interests. Bus lines are well working. Take care with taxi. Some drivers there are the last remaining cheaters into Romania those days.
