I loved the design and the rooms, super comfortable and was upgraded to a room with a bath, very welcomed after some days hiking. The breakfast was outstanding, with a very friendly staff member meeting the needs of her clients.

Property was made accessible despite there being snow on the ground. The host came to greet us and ask if we needed anything. Nothing was too much trouble. The property was warm and had lots of windows to let in natural light. The bed was comfortable and the blankets & quilt made for a warm stay. There were good storage facilities and cooking facilities if you wanted to stay for a long trip. The local community and surrounding environment also helped make for a perfect location.

It was a dream come true with regards to remote location in the Arctic, the views, the sunrises and the hotel itself. The staff went above and beyond to do everything for me. The sauna facilities were small but excellent with hottubs overlooking the lake, absolute stunning. The spa treatments were relaxing and heartwarming. The food was very high standard and fantastic wine pairings, both Swedish wines and imports. They also made great cocktails;-)

Perfect location. Huge lobby with two distinct spaces, and fast elevators. Nourishing healthy breakfasts with veggies, fruits, desserts, and tons of tasty treats. Self-served coffee/tea and juice are available at the reception 24/7. Room for two is with enough space for personal comfort. A table and a chair do not take up much space. Laundry service. Hotel is perfect. You can see northern lights in hotel you don’t need to go anywhere but you need camera to see it so you should look the sky with camera if you have good phones you can see. Rooms are clean and warm. Breakfast very diverse and delicious. there are two sauna one of free other of charge. there is a lot of activites you can do. The restorant has lunch menu open buffet around 17 euro per person and included soop, main courses ,drinks, fruit, deserts. You can come with regular winter clothes because hotel gives free snow clothes and special shoess. I am so glad for those clotes because without that clothes we could be frozen. The check-in was friendly and fast. The room and view was awesome! Such a great view! The breakfast was so luxurious and we talked to a staff member, a young girl, she had been in Sweden a few years. Her hospitality and friendliness was to a 10✨. We will definitely recommend this hotel and we want to go back! I think we came at a day where the roof top bar was closed but then we headed out in Piteå and had a lovely evening. Definately a hotel and town we’re revisiting!

Great place, I've enjoyed every minute. The beds are comfortable, there's enough space to store and hang stuff, kitchen & bathroom are very clean. The sauna is open most of the time, it could be a bit hotter in there though. There's also a room to dry things. Very effective. Haven't tried the restaurant, brought my own bed sheets.

Umeå is a hidden gem in northern Sweden, offering a unique blend of vibrant culture, natural beauty, and warm hospitality. My visit to Umeå left me thoroughly impressed with both the city and its people. The city itself is a harmonious mix of modernity and tradition. Umeå is known for its thriving arts scene, and it certainly lives up to its reputation as a European Capital of Culture. Nature lovers will find Umeå a paradise, with its close proximity to lush forests, serene rivers, and the stunning coastline of the Gulf of Bothnia. The city is designed with nature in mind, with plenty of parks and green spaces to explore. The Ume River, which runs through the city, provides picturesque views and is perfect for a leisurely walk or bike ride. But what truly makes Umeå special are its people. The residents of Umeå are some of the friendliest and most welcoming individuals I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Despite the city’s northern location, the warmth of its people is palpable. Whether asking for directions, recommendations, or just striking up a casual conversation, the locals are always eager to help with a genuine smile. There’s a strong sense of community in Umeå, and it’s easy to feel at home even if you’re just visiting.

Clean and comfortable place.

Clean and comfortable place. Visited "Old town" now for first time and it was nice. Cafeterias were not open, but nice old houses and beautiful church really worth visiting. In Luleå shops are closing very early on Saturday and are closed on Sunday, it would be nice to do shopping longer. On Saturdays difficult to get table reservations to some restaurants, you might wan't to plan your dinner in advance and do booking before trip.

Skellefteå is a town with an intriguing history.

Skellefteå is a town with an intriguing history. A pretty town on the banks of a large river. The view across the river of the beautiful main church has been obscured by an ugly multi-story parking garage. Who thought up that damaging action? The town is currently in the grips of street optimization. The narrowing of the main East-West street, is questionable and will soon cause traffic congestion. The station is still in place, but no rail traffic goes there apart from goods !! The infrastructure around the railway and station needs to be optimized and take advantage of the existence of a rail link to the rest of Sweden and the outside World.

Kiruna is the northernmost city in Sweden, located above the Arctic Circle in the heart of Swedish Lapland. Known for its stunning natural beauty, Kiruna offers a unique combination of wilderness, culture, and science. In winter, the city transforms into a magical wonderland, featuring snow-covered landscapes, the spectacular Northern Lights, and opportunities for dog sledding, snowmobiling, and visiting the renowned Ice Hotel in nearby Jukkasjärvi. In summer, the Midnight Sun shines for weeks, allowing endless outdoor adventures like hiking in the nearby Abisko National Park. Kiruna is also known for its fascinating history

One day would be enough to walk around Haparanda's features, along the river, the WWII bunkers, and the 1900 Railway Station bult in the Romantic style. If the neighbouring Finish town, Tornio, was included in a visit and you had a car, two days may be warranted. Haparanda railway station will become the first station on the Swedish side of a direct rail passenger service between Findland and Sweden expected to start in late 2025.

I stayed 5 days, mid September, for a conference and had some free time. When it wasn't raining, I enjoyed beautiful walks along the river (4 hour circuit), and I ran to the coast (12 km away), and through forestry roads. Easy returns by public transport as the busses are frequent and accept credit card. I did not need Swedish money at all during my stay. The town museum is a must see, even if small, and you should visit the historical part of town, which is nearby. I confess to only having eaten asian food while in town. I did not identify a restaurant with Swedish food, which I would have liked to try.
