I had to leave early to catch a train at 7:00am, the breakfast didn't start until 07:30, but the staff made me a takeaway breakfast. Room was nice, overlooking the town square, nice view. Room was clean.

The breakfast buffet and dinner changed from day to day and were excellent with a variety of choices. On our last night there was not the minimal number of guests needed to offer a full buffet so breakfast was downsized but we could order off the menu and the portions were immense. The pool area was wonderful (loved the lazy river) as was the sauna area which was accessible for a separate fee. Soft music and candles in both the pool and sauna areas made for a lovely relaxing atmosphere. North Americans may benefit from being advised in advance that bathing suits are not allowed in the sauna, steam room, or whirlpool tub in the sauna area. There is a lovely walking path along a bubbling brook steps from the hotel. The room was not large but had everything we needed including a mini fridge, and as always I love the fact that hotel windows open in Europe so one can sleep with fresh mountain air.

Situated in green surroundings 6 km from the centre of the picturesque city of Brezno, the Red Deer Hotel**** offers you a relaxing stay on the foothills of the Low Tatras.
